In terms of genuine first teamers only enrique lucas will be there for rodgers to work with.

Really he has so little time to get his ideas across and its going to be a difficult start to the league imo. I would like to think the fans including myself would be willing to be realistic about the first ten games.

But.if we end up losing the first five or six then it would make things pretty awkward.

Don't expect too much. This will take a while and it'll be all about the basics first, development later. I'd look forward to seeing the progression and evolution of the team as the months pass by.

Couple of weeks?! I think we go straight into the group, but not sure. The worst placing for an English team gets them 3rd qualifying round, which is at the start of August.

We'll be in round three and four I think, the beginning of August and the last one after the season has started.

Yep, just checked. We've got to play qualifying round three to reach the play-off, which Newcastle start in. Spurs straight into the group stage. (If we'd won the FA cup we'd be in the group.)

2nd August will be our first leg with the return a week later. Draw is on 20th July.
