So Europa Thursday then the Leverkusen friendly on Saturday is it?

I'd expect the same starting X1 that BR wants to play v WBA but who do we think may lay in the friendly?

I think the Leverkusen first 11 will be closer to the WBA team than tomorrow night's one. We certainly won't be treating it as a meaningless friendly, it's Rodgers last chance to get a look at his potential strongest 11.

Didn't think Suarez would start this one, so if that is the team then I expect similar against Leverkusen.

Be happy to see us start with that 11, like him or not Downing is going to play a lot for us this season IMO and with a change in tactics it might work out for him(doubt it, but you never know!)

At least early on Downing is going to play a lot. It does look as if Rodgers sees something in him too. I think one of him, Cole, Gerrard and Henderson is going to have to step up to be our main provider. Obviously Gerrard is favourite but you have to think he'll sit out a good number of games over a season.
