Not looking too shabby near end of pre season then. Hopefully our possession football will take Clarkey by surprise.

          It won't be easy game.

          Winnable yes but not easy.

No game is easy to be honest.

              True.

it is first game of the season so it will be extra difficult as WBA will try to impress at home.

They have a new coach and got Lukaku on a loan so their fans will be pretty pumped.

We still should be able to come on top but it won't be walk in the park.

These are the games we really must start winning, it will all take time, but they are in the same boat as us and on balance the chances are firmly in our favor, not just in terms of players but in terms of style of play.

They'll be well organized and tough to break down, but hey ho they all ****ing are on the bottom end of the table.

One thing is for sure, Lucas and Allen will ****ing destroy other teams, for me that partnership has the potential to be better than Mash and Xabi

First game of the season is always difficult as no-one wants to get off to a bad start.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

So, will we expect to see a midfield 3 of Gerrard, Lucas and Shelvey, or will Allen step right in?

Was wondering the same. Might be too soon to throw him straight in, especially as he will be away with Wales during the week and so will have limited training opportunity (with us).

And do we assume that Shelvey is ahead of Henderson in the pecking order now?

I reckon Allen will be thrown straight in.

Yeah I reckon Allen will either start the game or be on the bench.
