I can't believe the season is starting. I don't think I can remember an offseason which passed by so quickly like this one, usually I'm dying for the season to start by the time it gets to that point.

I must admit that I'm more excited about this opening day of the season than I have been for....... quite a while actually I actually think Luis is in amazing form due to the Olypics so hopefully Allen will be too.

Carragher said on the radio today that Allen has only trained once this week so might be lacking match fitness. So perhaps the 90 minutes against Bosnia has done him some good.

It made him pretty much ineligible for Saturday as Rodgers will not risk getting him injured.

I don't know if it is true but rumours were that Rodgers asked Coleman not to play Allen the entire match.

I had that feeling before the start of last season. When Dalglish had the reins after revitalising our team for half a season. I promised myself I wouldn't get my hopes up the same way
