In a bad mood now. Spent most of the half trying to find a decent stream. When I finally did Gera scored. How is Allen doing?

He's a decent little player who's having a lukewarm game.

I'm trying to shake the nagging feeling I had last season when I really couldn't see us scoring. Think we're still playing well though, but the defence look a bit nervy.

I think we've been the better team. Poor finishing all round... same as last year.

Some of the players have been a little careless and need a boot at half time... Borini, Gerrard in particular. Kelly has been really poor. Never really thought he was good enough, seems to get caught napping too often. Johnson has been great on the other flank.

81 goals in 110 games for Ajax, 28 goals in 54 games for Uruguay.

Those stats would suggest the lad can score goals...

International and Eredivisie Keepers are **** though

Think we're plagued with the same issues we had last year. We haven't addressed that this summer.

Certainly a lot more positives than negatives so far; we're losing to a worldie and it's safe to say it was against the run of play. I don't think we deserve to be winning, but certainly don't deserve to be behind.

Our movement off the ball has been excellent and there is a buzz of activity as players look for space. Obviously a few teething problems, mainly around our shape when we aren't in possession and at right back.

It's not Kelly's strongest game for us, but the way we play now very much relies on our full backs having strong games. Borini's movement off the ball is good, his link up play on the left has been poor (constructive critcism, I'm not averse to him playing) but he needs the supply when he's drifted central. However, Suarez fills in on the left and won't often find Borini so there is even more emphasis on Downing to provide something for him, which bar the first ten minute, he hasn't done and has since gone missing.

This view that Suarez cant finish is so bizzare, he clearly can.

Watch the game.. Your hung up on those stats but when confronted with his conversion % stat it seems to be overlooked completely. We are not Ajax or Uruguay, he hasn't been even average in front of goal for us ffs. Class player, shocking finisher for us.

Think Allen is doing very well considering it's his first game. Keeping things simple and chasing possession.

There's absolutely no doubt he can score goals.

There can also be no doubt that in his LFC career so far he has been quite wasteful and the first half is a continuation of that trend so far

I still have that feeling, in terms of goals there are only Suarez and Gerrard you can see getting double figures. Carroll maybe if he gets games, similarly maybe Borini, but both of those two have huge question marks over them.

We'll really miss the goals of people like Kuyt, Maxi, Bellamy etc
