So the main candidates don't seem to want the job, which leaves us with Ayre, someone FSG don't seem to see in the job long term either.

Which then means, the job isn't being done as well as it could be ?

And approaching 70. Not exactly a long term appointment.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

It's not at all clear that the problems with Ayre haven't only come to light because of somewhat unique circumstances surrounding the club. He might be a lot better at his job once we have some stability.

Maybe not, but his expertise at this critical juncture for the club would prove invaluable.

This may be true, but we seem to be getting our metaphorical asses handed to us over and over again, in every department bar commercial.

Hasn't he already been advising FSG behind the scenes? He was never CEO at Arsenal so I would say this is hugely unlikely.

Didn't know where it originated from.

So is Ian Ayre our new baddie?

I don't know enough about him to be able to judge his actual job performance. All I do know is what he plays out through the media, which has been a bit ill advised, the best example being made to look an amateur by Whelan.

All the rest seems to be conjecture. None of us know is true worth internally, unless there is someone who has shadowed him on the job and is willing to spill.

It could be the media side is his weakness. Put it this way, if its his strength, then LFC are truly ****ed.

He's been the baddie in a lot of people's eyes for at least a year now.
                    Oh I don't know.

There always has to be a baddie. It used to be Rick Parry then it was Christian Purslow and now it's Ian Ayre although he hasn't made as much of a **** up as his brother Ryan has done with that Irish airline he owns...

On the commercial performance, what are people basing his success on? Securing sponsorship etc?

He should go back to selling scarfs and mugs. He clearly doesn't have a clue about dealing with agents and other clubs

I've disliked Ayre for a long time

Since the drunken bar rant when Rafa was our manager
