Well there doesn't have to be, We could just employ someone who is actually good at there job*

    * Not sure on Ayre, He doesn't look comfortable in the role and I worry that being a bull**** salesman that he has talked his way to the top. He doesnt really have any credentials does he.

You only have yourself to blame for making a fool of yourself like that. You were knocking back the Jägermeister like a seventeen year old girl on student night.
        .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Very suprised at the anger towards Ayre and nothing towards Kenny who wasted a lot of money and contributed hugely to our current money problems.
Those that hid Anne Frank were breaking the law.
Those that killed her, were following the law.

That's easily side-stepped by pointing out that Comolli was responsible for the fees, whilst Kenny was 'only' responsible for identifying the players, team selection, in-games tactics and substitutions, and playing strategy.

There has been a lot of criticism of Dalglish. And not just from Matt.

I don't feel angry about Kenny wasting all that money. Just frustrated and very disappointed. Bit let down maybe. It seemed bad at the time but it looks (and is) even worse now. In truth none of us know how those transfers were driven, and who was responsible for what. I'd love to know. Maybe it'll come out one day. But as things stand it seems only fair for Comolli and Kenny to shoulder equal responsibility.

I never thought the disaster of 2003 - Diouf, Diao and Cheyrou - could possibly be eclipsed, but £75m on Carroll, Downing, Henderson and Adam.......****ing hell, it speaks for itself.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

My guess is that it was Kenny's preference for British players and youth mixed with FSG's moneyball system.

Using stats alone as a scouting system in football was always going to be a disaster.

The thing about the £75m of wasted talent, was that it didn't take a genius to work out they were vastly overpriced.
A simple google search would have sufficed.

RS4 has suggested the scouting model is much the same as Newcastle's so maybe the picture is a little more complicated.

Newcastle are obviously more successful at it than us though.

Most of their recent successes have been French or African players which you would expect Comolli to be an expert in so maybe it really was Kenny who insisted on buying British?
