One of the thing's I like most about Rodgers is he is not afraid to drop a player if they are on a run of bad form (except Gerrard)

He's not on a bad run of form to be fair, he's just had some good and bad. Was excellent v City, decent v Hearts and Sunderland, poor v West Brom and Arsenal.Originally posted by clanhuman View Post

Thing is, it's Gerrard's natural game to try and force things on a football pitch. He's having to adapt to a different more patient style but I'm sure Rodgers wouldn't want him to lose his streak. Difficult thing to juggle really and that's why I'd have him further forward. But he's still so influential that it was always going to be hard to reign in his game. Only Rafa had him playing where he should be but he had Gerrard's best years to work with. Are we winning?

I would also play him further forward a midfield 3 of Sahin, Shelvey and Allen would be my choice with Suarez, Sterling and Gerrard up top - you have Borini to come in to offer work if need be.
Gerrard as you say was at his best under Rafa and IMO playing further up the pitch compliments his best talents

Gerrard and Reina have probably been at fault for the majority of our goals.Originally posted by rcasemore View Postdays are gone though where we can expect Gerrard to drag the team along and he's been at fault a few times already this season for goals against us.
Would love to see that old cliche ring true today about class being permanent._____________________________________

I don't think we're compact enough when we have the ball. We leave too much space in midfield when we lose it, it's frightening. Not sure it's how Rodgers have us set out (leave some space between the lines) - think we pressure high up the pitch but it's more like a zonal pressing system rather than all of the time pressing and holding a high line. Are we winning?

Hopefully.
