I was just trying to update the 'Allen on for Spearing' meme now Allen is an automatic first choice and Spearing is plying his trade in the 4:40 at Wincanton or wherever.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

We have such a busy schedule. I'd like to stay in the tournament and keep it that way if possible. I think its great having this schedule. Especially for the young players. Although its a risk when we have such poor depth to our squad its still nice to see them getting chances. The more experience they gain now could be so valuable in the future.

i agree we need to show cole off, but maybe save it till nearer the january window, so he doesnt need more "recovery from injury time"

I'm pretty sure Wisdom will be starting. By the looks of things Rodgers is the type of manager who rewards good form with games (Which I am very much an advocate of). Henderson, Shelvey, Suso, Sterling have all benefited from that. I'm sure Wisdom will get his chance against West Brom.

I think the iron is still free for Monday night Monopoly at Lucas' house.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

I might well start Downing (I think he is a better player than many others on here do) but I'm unconvinced of the 'shop window' logic.
I agree with you on Downing, he hasn't justified his fee which like all of these cases he didn't set himself and it wasn't his fault that time and time again last season we contrived to miss from one of his crosses 6 yards out in the middle of the goal.

I just believe that a buying club will pay more for someone who is playing some games rather than no games.
The player is fitter, closer to full match fitness and used to playing (featuring) regularly.
If Downing doesn't play vs WBA or next Europa game then it's the same as touting Carroll out in the summer.
Clubs will come in and say you clearly don't want Downing, here's £2.5m and we can only pay half his wages.

It's no coincidence that nearly every bang average squad player to leave Man U for money was talked up and hyped by Ferguson as amazing just before he let them go.
The King was back for a short while. Long live The King.

                    all very true.
re; the fergie piece, he was in the fortunate position of bringing players on for 20 minutes or so once games were as good as won, to keep them looking like they were integral to a winning side. im not too sure we would have that luxury atm

He also has a network of patronage to exploit whereby his ex-players and other vassals pay over the odds for his cast-offs so they can get loan deals for promising players, etc.

Speculations are that lineup will be:

Jones Wisdom Carra Wilson Robinson Sahin Henderson Pacheco Assaidi Yesil Downing
Member #1 of the Luis Suarez fan club

                          That's nearly my team

Must be saving Coates for Norwich.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’
