    Norwich (A) Post Match Thread

As I said in the match thread - the transitions from defence to attack are beginning to look extremely pleasing on the eye; the angles we are finding - and more importantly - we are aware of, is excellent. You can now begin to see the type of players Rodgers will be identifying and the current crop that will fourish under him.

I still have concerns with our defensive shape; there are still large voids of space behind the full-backs and there are still question marks around the defence - individual errors are causing us a severe mischief.

Suso is my new man-crush - he's just a delight to watch on the ball; his poise, balance and ability on show today was excellent. Sahin is controlling everything whilst hardly breaking a sweat and Gerrard is making some excellent runs off Allen. Sterling grew in to the game after a quiet first half, but that was mainly down to our approach play going down the right. In the second half, we switched and his pace and skill was our outlet and he showed great awareness in filling in at centre-forward when Suarez dropped deep. Wisdom looks a class act - at times making a back three with Johnson pushing forward - and looked more than ready for the first team.

Some really, *really* nice goals today - none better than Gerrard's when we played the ball around waiting for the right time, pulling Norwich all over the park and striking when the time was right.

What we won't do this season is win when we are playing badly which might be our main issue going for the top six.

Fantastic display going forward and was overdue us bashing someone. Sahin,Suso,Wisdom,Sterling have been such breaths of fresh air. They fit seemlessly into what Rogers is trying to create.

We have turned dominating games into a win, which is what is really needed. Don't like to be negative after such a good display but Reina & Skrtel have to be concerning Rogers, they literally have cost us about 6 or 7 goals between them this season.

Defence must be shored up!!! Reina's general keeper and his passing have been shocking. He panics when trying to do quick passes and you can see he just wants to loft it up the park, same goes with Skrtel. Both need a serious kick in the arse. Skrtel since he signed that new bumper deal has been shocking, he seems always prone to an error.

Anyways Suarez scoring goals, young players playing fantastic, Gerrard seeming to find some great form, us dominating games, hopefully this gives the team confidence and we are starting to see an end product to the Rogers way.

          Some concerns but overall delighted.

Wisdom is great. Enjoyed the game. That game really shows whats happened to the game in recent years though. hardly a tackle of note in the whole game. it really is almost a non contact game. hard tackles, slide ins and the odd dirty tackle were a big proportion of my enjoyment of football. Its not better these days it's just different. It allows the likes of suso and sterling to play.

anyway, sahin, suso, luis, wisdom, allen & gerrard were the picks. **** half the team!

I think ideally we'll play with two red sitters, I mean, defensive midfielders - Lucas and Allen. We're bound to concede goals in the way we play unless we're perfect in our passing and positioning - i.e when we lose the ball / take risks, it's got to be in a non dangerous position.

BUT, our two goals were directly as a result of mistakes. First one Reina - panicked and passed the ball straight at a Norwich player then didn't do enough with the save. Second, mistake by Skrtel, lack of concentration allowed the Norwich player to get behind him.
                  Are we winning?

Great performance. We always looked a threat and played some fantastic football. Some dodgy defending though at times, which Rodgers needs to sort out. But one of the most enjoyable games from the Redmen in a while.

Got to get Suso's contract sorted asap. As it stands two of our best players today are not contracted to us for the start of next season.

Normally new managers sort out the defensive side of a team's game first. It seems Rodgers has concentrated in controlling/passing our way out of trouble.

This team needs Lucas back. Besides that, I think Rodgers should restructure the back four again, Wisdom did well but a short break on the bench wouldn't harm him too much I think. Johnson to RB and Enrique back into the team and lets see if he responds better than Downing. And maybe throw Coates somewhere in there...

Everyone else is just awesome, I'm especially pleased to see Gerrard caring again, 2 very good matches in a row.

I could live with us conceding a couple of goals if we played like that regularly! Total domination. It was a joy to watch, we're making significant progress. Suso and Wisdom were great today.

Some good attacking patterns of play, movement and intelligence with the ball. Gerrard is growing more into the role and Allen's dictation of the game is superb.

Suso is such a flair player, coming off the flank into pockets of space, making some excellent passes.

Luis Suarez...you know what you are...world class.

Reina had a good first half and then his second half display diminished his efforts.

Rodgers having a laugh with Johnson was a bit sexual.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.
