Our performances are encouraging, but our form is utter ****. League games in bold since WBA.

I guess, but Downing is also an option there. Maybe he'll be used sparingly in the league and you're right.

"Liverpool completed 691 passes tonight, nearly four times as many as Udinese (173). Snatch."

Harsh on Assaidi. Two starts - when he was outstanding - and two sub appearances (one lively and one, tonight, mediocre) and he looks "pure ****"

Downing had a good game today and Assaidi didn't, but I'll still take the latter 9 times out of 10.

Assaidi wasn't any good today but he was most people's MOTM against West Brom which is probably comparable opposition given the form they're in and the fact that we were playing them at the Hawthorns. It's way too early to write Assaidi off.

For the record, I don't think you specifically suggested he was **** but a lot of other people are so yeah

at 3m he is a risk worth taking. He was **** today. But I think he'll be alrite overall. Just needs to look up and get the ball in sooner. Could be exciting.

He needs Henderson on the bench for the League game as Shelvey is out due to suspension. Hence the sub I'm guessing

The thing about stats is we are in danger of concentrating too much on our undoubtedly fantastic 'passing' stats, we need to be focusing a bit more on our less good 'clean sheet' and 'win' stats.

A work in progress - but we should need to be winning games on the back of performances like that.

Glen Johnson was awful defensively today, good going forward but had poor game from a defensive point of view.
