For what reason do we need to build his brittle confidence?? Its clear he has no future with Liverpool.

I wouldn't say Cole was useless either, its just not right to completely drop a player when he's building form, for what we payed for him i'd like to see him near the team when he is actually playing okay.

This could be true, and would be a fair enough point, my post came across that I dislike Cole, I don't, I just feel that Downing could offer more. And since he is apperently very dissappointed to not be in the team. I can see Downing working hard in training, unless he is just saying it for the media.

We really need to improve our goal difference and we need to start winning at Anfield, haven't won yet in the league there. A 4-0 win would be nice but I can't see us keeping a clean sheet.

I think Downing on the right is worse than Downing on the Left, I also think it could be a good game to give cole 20mins if we get a couple of goals up. Showcase his talents for january
