And yeah, we do need to have at least one forward come in during the first week of the transfer window. No point in waiting until the end of January where another month will pass.

We'll have Lucas back soon which will help shield our defence and give Allen more freedom. Also think it's only a matter of time before Gerrard and Sterling chip in with more goals.

Too soon to predict that far ahead though what with potential injuries, loss of form etc from all clubs. Eleven points from 27 wouldn't be anywhere near good enough.

I don't expect anything, really, myself. If we continue to learn the new system and can start converting possession into shots / goals, I'll think we are progressing.

Don't get me wrong, I like the direction we are going and the style of football, but I have asked myself recently if it was necessary to take such backwards steps to go forwards (if that makes sense). I honestly think if we had brought slightly wiser and better in the summer we could be pushing for that CL spot already.
