Oh well. Let's hope it doesn't come back to haunt us. Until we have an apt replacement for Lucas, teams can easily walk through our midfield.

      Agreed.

Although a bigger problem is our soft centre. Our midfield offers very little protection to our defenders.

He still gets involved in the space that doesn't require much running, but he's not giving us anything of use. And his leadership is invisible. Shouldn't be playing imo.

Was thinking during the game that with Suarez he obviously tries to beat his man and it can be frustrating but in our side when it doesn't come off for him, I fear we'll concede from it its ridiculous when I think about it, we are a shambles at the back our shape is so ****ing poor. Closing down is none existent and our keeper problems are huge.

There is clearly an point in between the 2.. Change the shape.

Too many players strolling around the pitch without a care in the world.

That team is more than good enough to win that match comfortably.

The system and tactics are all bull****.

why was he so far forward? suarez instead of trying to dribble should have kept it and knocked it to a team mate. Utd excel in these positions. they retain the ball and knock it about. very naive.

That was annoying - especially as Sahin was so far out of position (my recollection was that he was dragged their - but maybe he too needed to get back given the situation).

Our game management has been abysmal for a few years now. I think the fact that Rodgers bought on Sterling was a factor but Gerrard and the other senior players need to get a grip and show some sense/leadership in those situations.

he's hitting men standing 5 yards away from him with his passing and shooting nearly all the time now. He's always been a dynamic player, not aged fantastically. Great servant but unless its coming on later in games he makes us worse IMO

That last 10 minutes was a shambles and Rodgers needs to get a grip of what's happening quickly or it'll undermine his tenure.

We should have consolidated and taken it at 2-1 inside of throwing midfielders forward in search of number 3.

Gerrard as our captain, as our most experienced midfielder, should have battened down the hatches not give YB the chance to launch swift counters at a defence containing 2 out of position midfielders.

In the grand scheme of things the competition isn't that important but it's worrying tactically and when most of your "best" players are on the pitch.

Think that's a wee bit unfair to be honest.

Good entertainment that was. Sham about the draw but hopefully the midfielders understand how to defend better.

Lets all calm down. It was a weakened side. Remember this.

The year we won the Champions League we were almost out at the group stages until Gerrard scored an unbelievable goal from the edge of the area vs Olympiakos prompting orgasm from Andy Gray. Then we went on to win it.

We'll repeat that this year on a smaller scale!!
