Reina, Skrtel, Carra, Enrique and Johnson had good games. Suarez worked hard on scraps. We need to accept that our young players will make mistakes. Allen, on the whole did well, and had a lot of responsibility placed on him in the middle. Henderson looked much more confident and made more of an impact. Shelvey looked accomplished but faded a bit in the 2nd half. Suso made some nice contributions. Sterling didn't really do a great deal. Downing, aside from a couple of nice passes didn't do much.

Though he was alright, did not have a lot to do, cant remember him misplacing a pass or a tackle, got beaten once the entire game by a lovely drop of the shoulder letting the ball run move, but other than that, solid, not to his high standards but a decent shift

Some really good performances, nobody stood out as being either the best or worst player on the pitch.

Another step in the right direction, kept the ball well towards the end, 1 or 2 bad decision but with time and better players that'll come.
Surprise and kind of not at the same time that Hendo is not being shown any love, thought he bossed that game

Actually my boss from Bristol is now on his way back from Covent Garden. He's probably not going to get home before midnight.

This is what it's all about.

Some players to night got a chance when they normally wouldn't have and they produced the goods. Henderson is case in point. He worked really hard to night and it was great to see. I wouldn't write that boy of just yet. He has the talent and time on his side.

As for the overall performance, a win is a win. Top of the group. I wouldn't say papering over the cracks. We deserved to win that group. We deserved to beat both Udinese and Young Boys at home, not forgetting an undeserved defeat in Russia. All that with weakened teams. I'll take that.

One point alone. Too many attack minded central midfield players on our books. Only Lucas has the discipline and natural inclination to sit. We need another. Perfect example was all the midfielders trying to push on and attack when we lost it and left Di Natalie running against Carra.

I thought he had a good game but I didn't think he was head and shoulders above everyone, which was my point. The team played well together.

He's pushed himself in a head of Sahin which I don't think anyone would have expected at the start of the season!

I think Sahin is ideal against teams parking the bus at Anfield, but his limitations are shown in quick tempo away games.

Joe Allen bossed that game. Jordan played well though, it was nice to see him getting in to goalscoring positions.

Henderson is only the 4th Liverpool player to ever score in Italy apparently. Neal, Owen and Torres are the others.

What an unlikely class of players for Hendo to join (relative to their successes at Liverpool, obviously).

The thing to do is not stop, just keep going and see where it leads you. Trying to drink a bath full of tea for a start. Sunday will be more of the same, meeting some director of a company i've never met outside Upton park at 12. The brief I was given by email was, bring my drinking hat, on a ****ing sunday. Oh dear.
