In fairness, Rodgers has much to prove, and I'm sure he knows it as much as anyone. Comparing him to Kenny & Rafa is daft as they are legends at this club and he has won nothing. But tbf to the man, it's impossible to have won anything by this stage.

But we can argue about the passing game, point to missed chances and say what ifs about disallowed late goals and penalties. What matters is results. Last I checked they're improving and we are 4 points of fourth. If he finished fourth, which is unlikely, it would be against the odds and a massive achievement. Until the end of the season lets wait until we hang the man.
Danny you can twist facts though as I have shown

4 in 3 isnt great defensive work

If Rodgers gets 4th it will be a monumental achievement

I hope he does get it but I have my doubts

Even if he doesnt get 4th and finishes within the European places that would be a decent performance for me

I see things on the pitch I like and other stuff I dont, Rodgers takes the credit and criticism for both those in my eyes

For me he sets teams up badly but hes good at substitutions

We won yesterday but we didnt play well you can argue that West Ham were fortunate but equally you could argue the same for us

Personally until Diame went off I didnt see us getting back in that game, yet the moment he went off I thought we'd win

That works out at just over goal a game, not ideal but not terrible. At the start of the season we were conceding around 2 goals a game on average which was awful.
Since the end of September we've been conceding less than a goal a game. Facht.

Isn't the mark of a good team finding a way to win despite playing poorly ?

Did we find a way to win or did circumstances present that to us?

Diame going off changed that game massively

Would we still have won if he hadnt gone off, I suspect not

I'm not disappointed that we won I'm delighted but personally I thought the Diame injury helped us massively

It was a stroke of luck the same luck that has sometimes deserted us both this season and last

Would we have gone behind if Enrique hadn't got injured ?? We were dominating before that happened IIRC.

Indeed, but there seems to be a proclivity for a lot of posters to focus almost exclusively on the negatives of Rodgers when, all things considered (ie the context of disastrous recent years gone by), his positives outweigh them significantly. There is of course no difficulty in debating the team/concerns etc, but without a reasonable consideration that he's actually doing a pretty good job, it just comes across as uneven.

But what if the reasonable consideration is that he could be doing a lot better and that infact his positives don't actually outweigh the negatives? Its all opinion at the end of the day and no one should be bullied for having one that does not 'fit in' with the commonly accepted views held here.

I think as pointed out by Tee, there is room for positive and negative comments. No one is saying Rodgers is **** and should go. I like to be positive and not air any problems I see, but I fully support constructive criticism on this site.

The only comments that annoy me are ones that say someone's **** without explaining why. That happens a lot in threads about players, but I haven't seen it in any thread regarding Rodgers as yet.

And in fairness to people like Dan Perkins who call players ****, they have in previous posts explained why they think a player is ****, some people just don't take that into account.

People can make up their own mind as to what they think is reasonable. Doesnt mean they're not wrong though
