I'm totally against the Sturridge transfer, but I saw that squad and asked myself "would he improve us" and to be honest he would.. Says more about our current situation than it does him as a player though

I was just about say to same that.

There are tons of players out there that could improve us with our squad deficiencies but that doesn't mean they would be the right type of players for us.

Totally agree mate but we don't look like we're being too clever in the market. Which is a shame, because as someone said there is great value in the European market and you've named several players I'd hope we'd look at.

The only positive for me is he'll improve us. I could name 15 players off the top of my head I think would be better for similar or less money mind. And I by no means consider myself a scout or as knowledgeable as others on here for that matter.

That's whats worrying me, we have this scouting network up and running yet we only seem to be interested in Sturridge and Ince. With Walcott, Huntelaar, Gomis and Jefferen being the other players we've supposed to have looked at.

I personally don't consider those good enough. Walcott I'd be happy enough with but the rest is just MEH to me.
