Close the thread, any slim hope of fourth is gone. Spurs have it in the bag.

We've never had a hope of top 4. I'd be happy with 6th and that should be our aim. Would be made up with 5th.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

As long as we get a europa league place for next season i'll be made up with that.

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Could imagine the uproar if we somehow managed to take 4th spot at the expense of the chavs

finish as high as we can, sort out the defence in summer and have a proper tilt at the top 4 and the EL(or domestic cups if we fail to qualify).

IMO the race for 4th has not a lot to do with Spurs as they are almost certain to finish 3rd.

All is not perfect at Arsenal and Chelsea and these are the two we have to aim to catch. If we can beat Chelsea and their fighting continues then I think we have a fighting chance.

We should forget about Spurs for the time being, other than beating them next weekend

In all honesty though I'd be pleased with a 6th place finish and very happy with managing a 5th which is going to be huge ask.

Am I right in thinking that 5th automatically gives a Europa League spot, and 6th will only get one if both FA Cup finalists have already qualified for Europe.

I'll be happy to overtake Everton, it won't be a disaster not catching the other 5 who've shown over the entire season to be better than us.

That said, recent form has been really encouraging and I'm excited about next season. For the first time in years it's about the way we play and individuals aren't necessarily the be all and end all. We have a decent squad that is interchangeable and the most pressing thing this summer is keeping Suarez (I know that slightly contradicts what I've just said about personnel)

England gets 3 places and Swansea have qualified already haven't they? What a fairy-tale that is for them

Yeh focus on Chelsea but the only way we'll get it ahead of them is if they implode themselves and Arsenal aren't there to capitalize which is a big ask.

I think their players will realise that playing **** doesn't help any of them, next season Rafa will be gone and they'll be in the EL if they carry on as they are.
