The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

IMO the race for 4th has not a lot to do with Spurs as they are almost certain to finish 3rd.Originally posted by G View PostClose the thread, any slim hope of fourth is gone. Spurs have it in the bag.
All is not perfect at Arsenal and Chelsea and these are the two we have to aim to catch. If we can beat Chelsea and their fighting continues then I think we have a fighting chance.
We should forget about Spurs for the time being, other than beating them next weekend

Am I right in thinking that 5th automatically gives a Europa League spot, and 6th will only get one if both FA Cup finalists have already qualified for Europe. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I'll be happy to overtake Everton, it won't be a disaster not catching the other 5 who've shown over the entire season to be better than us.Originally posted by rcasemore View Post
In all honesty though I'd be pleased with a 6th place finish and very happy with managing a 5th which is going to be huge ask.
That said, recent form has been really encouraging and I'm excited about next season. For the first time in years it's about the way we play and individuals aren't necessarily the be all and end all. We have a decent squad that is interchangeable and the most pressing thing this summer is keeping Suarez (I know that slightly contradicts what I've just said about personnel)

Yeh focus on Chelsea but the only way we'll get it ahead of them is if they implode themselves and Arsenal aren't there to capitalize which is a big ask.Originally posted by Norbs View PostIMO the race for 4th has not a lot to do with Spurs as they are almost certain to finish 3rd.

I think their players will realise that playing **** doesn't help any of them, next season Rafa will be gone and they'll be in the EL if they carry on as they are.
