Tempted to start Sturridge from the bench if he's less than 100% fit and bring him on against tiring legs late in the game. It'd be nice to have a real goalscoring threat on the bench for once.

Agreed but most top players are very one footed. Suarez is as near to a genuinely two footed player as there is out there...it's such an undervalued skill.

Top players maybe but world class?

One of my favourite players was Glen Hoddle and he would recall training his weaker foot day in day out until he could do 60 yard passes on either under any pressure. That's what footballers should be doing!

Sieze the initiative then bring on a fully fit Downing. He can defend the flanks pretty well too which is useful against Bale.

Maybe he will start with Downing and Sturridge and leave Coutinho on the bench. Hendo should play defensive mid to help the backs against Bale.

Seriously, we could very easily cut through the Spurs defence especially as they will play the high line, Gerrard and Lucas will always be in and around Bale and if Carra does play then we'll naturally drop that bit deeper anyway.

Sadly, Mertesacker showed yesterday how slower defenders should NOT defend against Spurs.

No, Monreal and Vaermarlen should how not to track a runner and Vaermarlen also showed when not to step up. The game also showed Arsenal's desperate need for a more defensively minded midfielder to provide protection for the back 4.

Neither of Spur's goals yesterday were from errors from Mertesacker.

To be honest there is clearly a structural problem with the way Arsenal defend. I would say we suffer similarly - both teams will struggle for a top 4 finish without making some sort of change to how they defend counter attacks.

Arsenal defended way too high up the pitch. Made it easy for Spurs and should have set up a lot deeper. That and as someone has said, like us earlier in the season their midfield is really struggling to help the back 4. I think they miss Andre Santos.
