It's hard to believe that this time last year we were raving about Skrtel and now people are suggesting Ashley Williams is better than him.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Collectively, our defending under Rodgers has been suspect but the offside trap wouldn't be my primary concern. Defending balls into the box is where we seem weakest at the moment - the amount of goal scoring opportunities we allow from crosses, corners or freekicks around the box needs sorting asap.

we've reverted back to everytime I see a corner or freekick given against us I expect a goal to be scored.

I was saying the same thing to my mate last night, he thinks it's partly due to us not having any big physical strikers ever playing against them in training, and that the defence have almost forgotten how to play against by physical centre forwards (the guy from Oldham being his example)

A use for Andy Carroll perhaps?

I think another factor of this is the fact that along with the poor defending Reina seems to have lost all confidence when going for crosses.

I also don't think our centre backs are suited to being attacked like this also, players running at them or high balls raining it (thus the Ashley Williams link).

If we compress the play and press (like what we did better in the second half yesterday) we're stopping the balls at the source as opposed to the point where they are getting in at the defenders.
                well observed and totally agree.
the diagram shows where the long ball came from, and if our defenders were not lining up on the edge of our area then their front three couldnt be sitting there waiting for the long ball.
this would also mean that there would be no need for all three of our midfield to be in no mans land and gerrard and henderson should have been pressing the man/men with the ball to help prevent the long ball.
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.
