    Progress

Thread after thread end up being about progress.

So what is progress for you?

    What is progress for FSG?

For me progress is about points and a more solid base to stand on. Everything get a little bit better.

I believe that more points and money is what FSG call progress. I doubt that they care about the way we play.

I think they do care about the way we play if it will bring us more points and money in future. That's a lot harder to gauge though.

Is it possible to progress and regress at the same time?

What is the baseline for progression, i.e. what point are we progressing from?

      More questions than answers.

        I think it is.

        We have progressed in attack

We have regressed at the back.

Rodgers will be using that in a press conference near you soon.

clearing out the dead wood and players with no immediate future who are on high wages. most done, but ongoing.

bring in some decent prospects for the future. some done, some iffy.

show the reserve/youth team that they will get their chance. ongoing.

new contracts linked to effort. ongoing.

talk about creating tika taka football. tried and shelved.

talk down expectations so fans are not disappointed with top eight finish. done.

discussion about re-development of Anfield in the news occasionally, no real tangible work started. ongoing.

cut the costs and get several low level sponsors. ongoing.

see if someone will buy this burden from us and get the hell out of soccer. next step.
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

I agree, we look better going forward but at the expense of our defence.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

Personally, I feel we've made **** all progress so far. Yes, the way we play looks better, but we're doing **** all with it. You can have all the possession and passing statistics you want, but it isn't worth the paper it's written on if you can't do anything with it.

It's just one of those days aha, but in all seriousness, progress is to build upon, and improve, what is already there, not tearing it all down and starting again.
