As with so many new faces to the Prem they usually get found out in the second year and its the third year they come good.

I believe we have made slow progress. The football is better the squad is better. But our inconsistency remains. I have major on earns about what Brendan wants from our centre backs and that tactically he is not as strong at that side of the game.
I'm a newbie by the way so hello all!

We'll have a new set of CBs next season so shouldn't be a problem for BR to tailor his signings to suit his ethos

Evening fella!! Welcome! The optimists amongst a us can see progress while the pessimists see regress due to the poor cup form this season, whist I think we've made big strides going forward, our total inability to deal with balls into the box at either end is a massive concern, I think we need a man in to work solely on the defensive side (maybe carra) but its clear that along with that, the link between midfield and defence is flawed and needs work...

The modern day of pigeon holing every position and more, lol... It used to be players with different attributes now the technical side of things have gone mad!! Plus years ago players used to play anywhere when asked, now they sulk in their multi million pound mansions...

It's how tactics have evolved. Football started out with a common 1-2-7 formation with positions known as 'fly-kick', 'three-quarter back' and 'half-back' - embrace change.

Always embrace change, just some of the positions and formations are silly really! Football could change for the better in so many other ways yet it stands stagnant compared to some other sports...
