I think a major difference that should not be ignored here is that Rafa also had a much stronger squad to work with.

Would be interested matt how you think the squad under raffa was stronger than the squads after he left .
Could you be more precise and explain why the squad raffa had was stronger

True but always moved those players on for at least what he paid, sometimes more...

He did get a decent return on players tbf and that's something we've failed to do since..

I don't for a moment think he was perfect and I'm sure he could have been better at some things - the man management thing does ring true (although frankly I think some of these so-called professionals need to act more that way). But his strengths far outweighed his weaknesses and really it was only his tactical acumen that made up for the weaknesses (at first inherited, later imposed by the cowboys' mismanagement) in the squad throughout his time at LFC.

I agree that the players need to act better too both on and off the field but the thing about Benitez was that although he was a tactical genius I just think when you are in that position freezing players out is not good for squad morale and there was plenty of grumbling about that in his time in charge..
