Think it's sickening that no one seems to be concerned with Ivanovic's condition at this stage.

Kudos to Rodgers for reacting at half-time and changing our shape to get in and amongst Chelsea's midfield. He identified that the ball wasn't sticking up top and he took Coutinho off (who looked like he wasn't up for the fight) and unleashed a clearly 'pumped up' Sturridge. Reverting to a 4-4-2 allowed us to release Gerrard further up the field to influence the play and away we went. Did Rodgers match Rafa today? I think it's fair to say yes. Yes he did.

It also highlights that Rodgers' tactical nous is up there and it's enabling us to compete with the top clubs; we just lack the mentality and ability within our squad - to make that one point into three.

I think we will all share concerns about the first goal we conceded. Our hybrid of zonal and man-marking is a tad loose and will no doubt be worked on in the summer alongside our new arrivals. Other than that, we contained Chelsea and Reina wasn't worked on that many occasions.

And to complete this ****-sandwich, Lucas looks to be slowly returning to form and with a solid pre-season, I'm confident he will be back on form for the new season.

Lmao. Lets blame the sky reporters as he did absolutely nothing wrong. I blame the cameraman for showing it. **** me Suarez has let everyone of us down today.
        No excuses

The Sky coverage was horrendous and the post match interview was a total cringefest; the re-wording of the same question five times to Rodgers was awful. And when Rodgers turned the conversation to football they cut back to the studio. The interview with Rafa was just as teeth-suckingly embarrassing, especially when the interviewer realised Rafa wasn't going to be drawn on the topic and as such, created an awkward silence that made my toes curl under my feet when we ALL realised that he hadn't prepared *ONE* single question about the actual game itself.

I agree with all that but he shouldn't have put the club in this position

An anonymous Sturridge is still an infinitely better option than the utterly appalling Downing at the top of his game. He's pure **** and drags the team down

Oh, and I'm with Daniel7 - Shelvey is irrational, hot-headed and a walking card that is either yellow or red in colour. You could forgive these traits if he actually offered something on the football pitch, but he's limited, runs in one gear and has his head down on too many an occasion.

I'm all for giving time to youngsters and realise that it takes time for players to develop, but there is just something about Shelvey that makes me think his future is for a team in further down the bottom half of the Premiership.

Sky's coverage was shocking and cringeworthy but at the end of the day it's Suarez being a dick that created this mess today...

True. But I guess that's for the Suarez thread.

If I could be bothered then I'd make a complaint. I pay my subs to Sky and they're not providing us with what they're contractually obliged to.
                      Hello mert.

If you think he's let you down you must be a very sad individual. It's an incident in a football match. Nobody died. Life goes on. It's really not important at all in the grand scheme of things

Me and andy were talking abut shelvey earlier and agree he needs to go on loan as he's not getting enough game time and it's showing when he gets the chance! Saying that I really like him and think he has a bright future..

A while ago I thought he was really promising, but I think he has gone backwards this season, I agree that he should be loaned out for experience though, it's something I've been saying for a while.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

He's let the club down often so as fans he lets us down and caused different types bollocks and the club has stood by him, once again our club will be dragged through the gutter because of him!! He's a genius but I think he needs help! Anger management or something ffs!!

Think the red card at old Trafford hurt him and he's never recovered, a season on loan would be great for him..
