Henderson,Downing & Enrique (form bit erratic in general) have really come on for us under Rogers. Though i don't see Henderson or Downing as regular starters for LFC if we want to challenge for things, they have improved second half of the season and could be decent squad players IMO.

Neither have come close to justifying their transfer fee yet, so remains to be seen will Rogers/FSG want rid with of big wages or not getting this whole "value for money"? Henderson is young he may get bit more time, but to be fair to Downing... he is our most improved player.

In saying that...... Downing and Henderson were pretty crap previously but sure it's all positive here.. GO TEAM!!

I think Henderson for 13nillion is looking a very decent value buy tbh. Downing like Carroll before him will never justify his fee as it was probably 3 x his real value and while he has improved dramatically he is still not very good.

He had the potential, anybody with that sort of athleticism does, but he just ruins it with stupid decisions and being a cunt in general, cannot believe he didnt pick up a card for that spat with Johnson. yet somehow Sturridge and Debuchy do for something far more trivial.

Just watched the match. Good all round performance. The Cout was brilliant even though he tired in the second half.

I had a special eye on Johnson as he was getting some bad press in here. Why? Rodgers had clearly set up with 3.1/2 at the back with Johnson in a more advanced position. He made 2 mistakes all game with a couple of sloppy square balls to opponents. Apart from that he had a good game. I guess haters are gonna hate

Steven Taylor: Newcastle's 6-0 Liverpool defeat like family death

Newcastle defender Steven Taylor has likened their humiliating 6-0 home defeat by Liverpool to a family death.

"It's a sick feeling. At this moment in time, it feels like a family member has died," the 27-year-old said.

"In the dressing room, looking around, everyone was devastated and realised the situation we are in."

The result was Newcastle's heaviest home defeat since 1925, and left them five points above 17th-placed Wigan, having played one game more.

Daniel Sturridge and Jordan Henderson scored twice while Newcastle's Mathieu Debuchy was sent off with the scoreline at 5-0, and a number of disgruntled home fans registered their disappointment by leaving the ground early.

"We have to apologise, first and foremost, to the fans, for everybody who came here and watched the lads, and hold our hands up because we know we let them down," added Taylor.

"We are devastated with it, it wasn't acceptable and we all hold our hands up.

"It's hurt the players, it's hurt the manager and the staff, and you could see that after the game. We were just feeling sorry for ourselves afterwards, but we have just got to pull ourselves together now."

Newcastle travel to West Ham and Queens Park Rangers in their next two games, before hosting Arsenal on the final day of the season.
