Not sure what this data is really saying. If you tend to have a margin of victory of more than 1 goal then a large percentage of your goals are going to come when you are winning. Am I correct in that? I guess what I am saying is that isn't it a GOOD thing to win by more than one goal? Now I understand that, for instance Spurs have scored less and conceded more and yet have five more victories than us. To me that suggests an inability to find victory in tough games, but when on form we have no difficulty in putting teams away. Maybe I need to just shut the fook up and return to the Guinness. . . . .

It's mystifying isn't it? The useless Welbeck has scored just one paltry league goal all season apparently.

If he wasn't a Man U player he wouldn't get within a million miles of the England team

What a second half (did sod all at work to watch that).

I think the commentator meant that Sturridge should be played in the central role more often rather than played in the first team (which he's done regularly).

Fulham were a bit **** but still 11 goals in 15 games is a phenomenal record. Well done Daniel! Coutinho is just so aware and if we can sign another creative player (Tello please!) then we're seriously on our way.

My only concern is if one of them gets injured so perhaps we need more creative back up somewhere.

i agree with the whole Wellbeck thing as well. What can't speak can't lie and his stats show him to be a very average player at best....

I hope Rooney leaves them because if he does, then United are pretty close to the same one man team that Arsenal were when RVP was there....

Can't wait for next season already to be honest. I couldn't agree more regarding the Jan window - what signings Coutinho and Sturridge have turned out to be! Both are easily worth double what we paid (in Coutinho's case, probably 3 times more) and i think what we also must remember is that Sterling and Suso can hopefully develop properly now - as opposed to being thrown in because of needs must and then burning out by the time they are 25!!

I hope that we sign maybe 3 or 4 top players in the summer but if we can't then i'd prefer if we signed 2 top players. I think its quality not quantity that is required and if we only sign 1 top centre back, then so be it and Martin Kelly / Andre Wisdom will have to step up. I'd hate to see us sign 3 average Joes for £5m a piece and this would push our young players that have promise into obscurity whilst not really making a huge difference to our team....

Henderson is going to be a star.

Downing, sell in the summer if we can get anything half-decent (prays that Martin O'Neill gets a job!!) because although he has improved, we can do better....

Carroll, set a price and a deadline. Say £18m by August 10th or its a no-deal. If we have Carroll, Sturridge, Suarez and Borini then that is a lot of options available. Carroll can be our plan B and if he doesnt like that, then it's his problem. He can still potentially play a part in our success but only if he has the right attitude. I can see him trying to force a move to Newcastle (will probably cite playing in the world cup as his main reason) but unless they come up with the dough, then its tough. I don't want to see him going on loan again to be honest because every year he does that his value drops)

The people that are pointing to the fact that we were 8th last year and now 7th are not taking the following into account:
              - BR has cut Maxi, Dirk, Bellamy, Aquilani, Joe Cole all from the wage bill.
              - We had an ageing squad, now we have a young team that is only going to get better
              - We have introduced a new way of playing
              - He has given valuable experience to the likes of Sterling, Suso, Wisdom, Shelvey, Kelly before he got injured. Also the likes of Ibe, Sinclair have had a carrot dangled in front of them to push on.
              - We are now good to watch as well...

Maybe I was abit harsh Still, I think we'd have struggled if Fulham had scored again before we had. Some people are never happy so I just had to have a pop Reina made two superb saves at 2-1 up. Think Sturridge should have squared it to JJS at 2-1 up but went himself. My only criticism of him would be he should put the team ahead of himself, but then he might not be the player he is.

                    Fair enough mate!

I really enjoyed that yesterday, considering it was our penultimate game of the season and we weren't going to be gaining much from the win, it was surprisingly competitive.

Good result and great second half performance

Got a little bit lucky with some of the decisions once again but that is balanced out by some of those we didnt get early on in the season

Not sure the 3 at the back experiement worked

Coutinho certainly is developing into a quality player

                        It didn't really did it?
IMO you need at least 2 quick, mobile defenders to play 3 at the back and Coates and Carra aren't that.
Interesting to read that Rodgers said he tried it just so he could see it in a PL game, worked on it in training, wanted to test it under a match conditions saw things to improve on and changed back at half time.

It's good that he's experimenting a little, trying to get the squad more tactically flexible and looking to next season and beyond.

Also encouraging that Borini looked more threatening when he came on
The King was back for a short while. Long live The King.

I'd happily sell Coates and Shelvey. I'd sell Borini too if we got a decent offer in for him.

Don't agree with any of that!

Coates and Shelvey could benefit from a season on loan. I also think Borini has shown enough in the last couple of games that he's capable of doing a job from the bench.

I don't see the point in loaning Coates, he's not cut out for this league, he's just not. He's slow, he's cumbersome, he's dopey and for a big lad he's a complete wimp. Sell. He'd be good in Italy though if he toughens up a bit.

Shelvey, well I could see the benefit in loaning him, but he's already done great on loan at Blackpool then bombed when he came back. What's the point in loaning him again? I just don't think he's cut out for a big club like Liverpool personally. Decent player, but never good enough for us.

Borini would make for an expensive substitute IMO. I could never seem him starting for us in that front three we play. He's only suited to the central role and he's plainly not good enough for that. I know it's early and he's had horrendous injury problems, but I don't see him as good enough personally. Hope I'm wrong on that one though.

Coates hasn't really been given much of an opportunity to adjust to the pace of the game here, there's no point writing him off when he's only played once in the last 5 months. A loan at lower table Premier League team would allow us to have a look and if at the end of the loan he's still not living up to his promise, I agree we should then look to sell.

Shelvey again, he looked great towards the end of last season and the beginning of this, then he had that red against United and it seems to have set him back a lot. He's definitely got the tools to be an excellent player for us IMO.

Borini, is 10m really that much to spend for a backup striker? I don't actually think so. We've been crying out for squad depth for years, we now have this up front and people are looking for us to sell? Madness IMO.
