Looking relatively assured, even with Villa's late efforts in the half, but there's a real dearth of chances created.

Excellent first 30 minutes, went a bit downhill from there. Can't sit on the lead.

Everyone has been playing pretty well in general, except for Gerrard who has been woeful.

Great start to the game but we dropped off & invited them into the game really. Not been too impressed with Lucas at times. Sturridge is in fine form isn't he.

Dominated the first 35. Last 10 was bit ropey. 1-0 is very precarious. I'd hate for us to continue dominating the game but concede and spawny equaliser. need to go at them in second half and push for the second.

Coutinho has been disappointing... so much better when he is central. Sturridge been outstanding

Would like a second and need to get back to dominating the ball - they showed they can be dangerous in those final 15 minutes. Not sure one goal will be enough. Unfortunately have looked a bit dull at times, but if we can get them tired with a bit of possession I imagine that'll change.

But 1-0 at the half, so no complaints.
