    Fourth or higher: staggering

    Fifth: good

    Sixth: ok

    Seventh: disappointing

    Eighth or lower: disastrous
    .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

      Agree with this

i'd be quite pleased with a competitive 5th/6th place - what i mean by that is, in a way i'd prefer to finish a close 6th over a distance 5th

      ie

      1st 80
      2nd 79
      3rd 76
      4th 75
      5th 74
      us 73

      instead of

      1st 90
      2nd 88
      3rd 80
      4th 78
      us 60

no point finish 5th or 6th but being miles away - but if we can go close and come the last 3 or 4 games be in with a shout, then it would be an improvement.

i think city, chelsea and our fav spurs will a be top four - that leaves us arsenal and united going for that last place. despite all us laughing at both clubs recently, they are still strong and will stil beat teams and will be up there.

i guess a lot comes down to a bit of luck - as i've said a lot recently if we keep our 10 key players fit for the majority of league games, then we have a very good chance of making top four.
i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

I'd be pleased with 65 points. 70 or more is incomprehensible to me at the moment.
        Oh I don't know.

Actually, scrub that. We ended up on 61 points last season. 70 is achievable. Any more than that will be a big ask.

            2012/2013 Rodgers' first
            1 Manchester United 89
            2 Manchester City 78
            3 Chelsea 75
            4 Arsenal 73
            5 Tottenham Hotspur 72
            6 Everton 63
            7 Liverpool 61

This is last season's points total, I reckon the league will be a bit more competitive, so if we get around 70 points I think we'll finish anywhere from 3rd. - 5th.

And yet still people expected them to challenge for the title last season under RdM/Benitez.

68 points and fifth. We need to score more goals, or many of these 1-0s will become 1-1s etc.

That points haul from Rafa is depressing me.

I hope when Luis comes back, him and Daniel will be joint top scorers

If we keep a decent run of form until Christmas, the two games against city and the chavs could be huge in determining where we end up and for our confidence going into the run in. I also hope that most of the games between the top 6 end up in draws (not ours of course) as with 2 rather than 3 points coming out those games the overall point tally for our competitors is reduced.
