No one has mentioned Suso yet,I think he'll be very good in the near future but never as good as Stevie

Why would you want to get another Steven Gerrard? It will be a different player with different qualities. That kind of comparison is pointless to be honest. Absolutely pointless.
      Are we winning?

You know what I meant. It's not like coaches are told to clone players, ffs.

I hope we don't look for the next Steven Gerrard. We're transitioning to a balanced team and steering away from an average team with a regular saviour.

Sure, but Stevie has pretty much the whole package, 9s in all categories, probably with the exception of dribbling. I'd love to find another equivalently skilful/strong/technically gifted leader but it isn't going to happen unfortunately. Better teams than us have failed to find one.

Nobody will ever be like Steven Gerrard. He's one of a kind. There may be players out there, or players of the future who share similarities with Gerrard's style of play but I'm privileged to say I've watched one of the worlds greatest midfielders play.

It will be a sad day when he leaves, but, just like with Carragher we have evolved.

I just hope we don't lumber anyone coming through with the "new Gerrard" thing in a desperate attempt to grasp onto something that has been and gone. Gerrard is phenomenal, he's managed to reinvent himself and this season has been like a new signing - to get that kind of athletic dynamism in his youth and peak years to an intelligent metronomic, pace dictating midfielder shows just how great he is and was - that versatility comes along once in a generation.

The new Maradona thing plagued Argentinian football for 25 years until Messi came along - none of them could carry the pressure and expectation until Messi arrived (the horrible, vole, bullying *******).

I hope we just get behind boss new players and accept them for what they are. Some even said Shelvey was the new Gerrard, ffs.

There was never another Dalglish but we ended up with Stevie who many consider to be better.

We won't ever get another Stevie but maybe we'll get someone close, unlike though, he's really is something very special.

We've never had another Barnes! Someone else always comes along.

Perhaps our next great thing will be Brendan Rodgers?

Still hopeful for him - I think he must be the first Liverpool manager in history to get such a level of patience. The whole fanbase wants him to do well.

Not so sure he's what we need, even if he does look in good shape this year.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?
