It's going to be interesting when we get back to a fully fit side i.e. Coutinho and Johnson in particular being available again what our first 11 and the formation will be.

I can't wait and think it will almost pick itself. Three selection dilemmas IMO:

      -----------------------Mignolet----------

      --------Toure-------Skrtel/Agger----Sakho-----

      Johnson-----Lucas/Henderson---Gerrard------Enrique/Cissokho

      ------------------------Coutinho---------------------------

      ----------------Sturridge---------Suarez----------

Allen will be back too, so our bench options will be something like this:

Jones, Wisdom, Kelly, Ilori, Skrtel or Agger, Enrique or Cissokho, Lucas or Henderson, Allen, Moses, Luis Alberto, Sterling, Ibe, Aspas

That's 13 going for 7 spots on the bench. With everyone fit, six of the above are gonna be disappointed. Decent depth. Obviously need to improve some of the quality and add another CM, but that's pretty decent I reckon.

I think you're probably right with the 3 at the back and wing backs.

I was trying to think how we get Coutinho, Moses, Suarez and Sturridge all in and I don't think you can.

Looks a strong squad on paper doesn't it + the likes of Suso getting some proper game time in Spain.

As mentioned in another thread think we could do with a bit more in midfield but fancy we'd need to move one or two on to get them in.

Wish we had Costa or Mikey for a bit of quality outwide instead of using fullbacks

I don't think they would have created much more width.

Yup, tbh I'm not sure where they'd have fitted in. Obv. Would have loved either one of them to turn up

Either way i can't wait to see us with a full strength 11 and a full 90 minute performance. Bar a good cup run we only have 31 games to concentrate on this season where our rivals all have European commitments , which could work in our favour.

Liverpool will have Glen Johnson, Philippe Coutinho, Joe Allen and Aly Cissokho back for their next home game (WBA) on October 26th

All bar Coutinho should be back for Newcastle away too.

Can't wait to see him playing the role that Moses is currently in, with SAS to create for

very encouraging looking at that - and it looks like the 3-5-2 seems to suit us more.

we probably lack a little bit of quality in depth to have real push - but with the lack of european football and only the FA cup as potential extra games, then if we keep the starting XI fit we have every chance of getting back top four.

ideal world would be nice to be in the mix come January, keep every we have currently and then add a top signing to give us a boost/lift and extra quality for a real push for the 2nd half of the season.

Looking at it - if we can keep everyone we have including making Cissokho/Moses permenant signings and then add

                            decent back keeper
                            a top centre mid
another top attacking threat that gives us width/goals

                            we'd be there or thereabouts

just get through the internationals injury free, get a win against Newcastle/WBA and we should be going into the Arsenal game at full strength and flying.

                              not too much to ask

                                also

                                between now and arsenal

they play 4 games - Norwich/Dortmund home, palace away and then they have Chelsea at home in the fourth round of league cup, four days before us.
