To be fair, both Sakho and Toure have played as FB before but I think Sakho's lack of bedding in and language issues are holding him back. Absolute boss tackle today though!

What utter rubbish. Gerrad was excellent last season in CM and up until today has been good this season.

If Rafa or Kenny or Roy played 4 CB's in a team they would get it.

Rodgers ****ted the team today. No Balance, No width, No creativity, No Pace. And any pressure and we fall to ****e. What is it with passing the ball around at the back when under pressure.

I know a number of people are mentioning a poor central midfield, an while I thought they were lacking some energy today. I don't think that their first job is to be solid and I'm not sure how well they can do that if they aren't used to the back four. I know injuries have meant it is necessary to change the back four, but I really didn't understand the decision today to play 4 CBs particularly at home. Our system relies on full backs being able to play in all areas of the pitch and bring the ball forward. Obviously we miss Johnson in that regard, and Wisdom hasn't been great, but Sakho and Toure just weren't up to it today and I think that had a huge negative effect on the attacking side of the game.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Penalty could have made a lot of difference to the match.

But ultimately we were not good enough.

Suarez back next and fixtures against Sunderland away and Palance home.

I'm not going to lose sleep over our first loss in 13

Based on Rodgers philosophy, our midfield should be a lot stronger, but at the moment its as bad as it was when we had Hodgeson.

The midfield were equally poor. we dont seem to be able to create any chances unless Sturridge dribbles it up the pitch. We really do lack a midfiled general. I am not sure Lucas is going to be good enough to take us forward, as he need to dominate a bit more and be more dynamic when we go forward. Not even sure what Gerrards role in the team is, and Henderson looked equally clueless.

But Rodgers has to take full reponsibility for breaking the defence, which was the one part of the team that worked well. It was clear against Swansea that Toure was not a fullback, and Sakho needed bedding in. I grant you that Enrique was awful too, but we offered next to nothing on either flank. When we did break through every cross was rubbish. We hardly tested the goal keeper, while Mignolet kept us in thaat game. Shame his distribution isnt better as he an amazing shot stopper.
In the beginning, Fowler created the Heaven and the Earth.

removing all the weak links makes us stronger

Good players but slow and sluggish when moving the ball and when you're getting pressed you need a bit of agility and speed in there, we seem too static.

How crap was Gerrard, just strolling around giving the ball away.
Has Rodgers got the balls to 'rest' him?

Still doubt his ability to kick the ball with both feet but that tackle was ace. No pussyfooting around! Better today than on Monday night.

I have no idea what he was thinking, if we think we have problems with the full backs I would have preferred up to go 3 CBs and use wingbacks

But who would play wing back? As you rightly mention we rely on attacking fullbacks, looking at the backups not one of them i would describe as attacking.
