I'd have preferred that myself, something along the lines of..

        -----------------Mignolet
        -------Toure-----Skrtel-----Agger
        Hendo-----Lucas------Gerrard------Enrique
        -----------------Alberto
        -----------Moses-----Sturridge

I think Enrique and Henderson would be decent wingbacks, I would prefer to have Henderson elsewhere, but for me that would have been a better option than what we put out.

Has Rodgers got the balls to 'rest' him?
He started off the same way last season and played every minute, he probably needs a rest but it could be the way he is training so he peaks towards the end, who knows. Either way he seems a bit halfhearted in some aspects of his play, sometimes letting runners go like he has no interest in tracking back. If his freekick went in though we'd be lauding him

If we are to continue with Gerrard in midfield he needs to bin England. He hasn't got the legs for it anymore

If he hasn't got the legs, he probably should use his hands.
                Are we winning?

I think that we now have a problem that Rodgers doesn't really know what our best team is, we've brought in a number of players and I'm not sure he knows what to do with them, I also think that we now have a lot more players of a similar level that he seems to think need games, at the end of last year the team basically picked itself. For me there was a lot of understanding missing from the side, it was clear that they hadn't played much together and weren't on the same wavelength.

                      On the game itself.........

I knew we might struggle from the off. Soton & Swansea are our kryptonite in this league. They press high and pass the ball very well. our central midfield lacks energy and so we struggle to get a rhythm.

That said, Soton & Swansea didn't create loads themselves. Had we had Coutinho and/or Suarez playing I'd have still backed us to get a win.

On the goal itself, what a joke. We had a throw in and rushed it, passing to players under pressure. We take our time and they get no corner and thus no goal. Criminal as at 0-0 we had started the second half the sharper of the two.

Most annoying aspect. At 1-0 down we should have been flying into challenges. We let Soton stroke it around in our third at times in the last 15 minutes. Shameful.
                      Forwards.......

It's not going to happen at least this season with the WC in the summer. To be honest I'm not even sure he would retire from England after that...

Its the first defeat of the season so there's no point getting carried away. Its a bad result but conceding yet another set piece is disappointing, not being able to handle saints pressure tactics is another weakness were not addressing. capitulating in the second half another.

Somethings not right but we are missing Suarez, coutinho, Johnson and their loss would affect any team.

Considering its at Home. I would have gone with Sterling or ibe with Moses out wide. 3 CBs and Lucas and Gerrard and Henderson should be more than enough at Home.

Well I'm hopeful they don't even make the playoffs and he calls it a day straight after!
