Well I'm hopeful they don't even make the playoffs and he calls it a day straight after!

I think there's more chance of him quitting if they make the World Cup than if they don't, but to be honest I think he'll carry on making himself available for England as long as they want him.

I think that we now have a problem that Rodgers doesn't really know what our best team is, we've brought in a number of players and I'm not sure he knows what to do with them, I also think that we now have a lot more players of a similar level that he seems to think need games, at the end of last year the team basically picked itself. For me there was a lot of understanding missing from the side, it was clear that they hadn't played much together and weren't on the same wavelength.

I pointed this out to a couple of mates. He has bought players in for reasonable fees you'd expect to play most of them. But how do you fit them into the team? Its all good having an idea how you want to play the game and what you want to. But he is still sticking in players almost to prove that it is working or is going to work (Aspas especially)

Gerrard doesn't need the legs. What he needs is a team around him. Too often today our players had no out ball. LFC should be able to keep possession much better meaning a player like for example, Wanyama or Diame, are less needed.

Those types of players are useful when under the cosh as they can get about the pitch at pace, have plenty of energy and are strong in the tackle. If I'm being harsh, I would have to say Rodgers has too much faith in this LFC side to think we can get away with having two less mobile players as the base in a 4231 hybrid.

That said, whilst we weren't great at winning the ball today, we should still be picking out players with short passing. No movement today and that's the difference between today and the end of last season.

Well Brendan takes that one. It was clear after 10 minutes that the setup was not going to work. Sahko looked completely lost at full back. It imbalanced the team and the uncertainty spread throughout all the players. We looked very nervous at the back. Finally in the second half he conceded defeat on that one. Never thought I'd be looking forward to Allen coming back but our central midfield is not working. Lucas and Gerrard are being overwhelmed without Henderson doing their donkey work. They cannot last the season so he needs to switch it up.

The less said about Aspas the better.

Without coutinho or Suarez we look completely useless. I thought Alberto might be able to replace Coutinho but not sure after today.

The only bright spot was the unbelieveable saves of
Mignolet. Could have been a hiding without him.

This is a brilliant point IMO. Noticed it this season in particular. Players aren't working hard enough to get not the right positions to receive the ball.

I've been very happy with how we have played up until about the 65 minute of the Swansea game.

In today's game we looked as disjointed as we did in the last 35 minutes of Swansea.

I said after that game that we shouldn't see Sakho in a red shirt for a few weeks at least and I saw nothing today to change my opinion.

I have to say that I am very disappointed with Rodgers today. I think its his responsibility.

I could not fathom starting with 4 center backs. Especially dropping Enrique for Sakho.

Then the half time substitution made no sense. It was clear to me from the first half that the problem was the link between defense and midfield. Enrique and Kelly should have been on for either Sakho and Toure or Agger if he was still injured.

I thought we had other players that could take the number 10 according to Rodgers in the per match interview. I didn't see any of them today.

with coutinho out we would obviously lack that creative spark behind the striker.

i said in the cout thread we could have played moses in there, with sturridge in front. maybe ibe and sterling either side.

our two best players, moses and sturridge, out wide and no one to pick up the ball in the middle other than the invisible aspas.

we didnt have any penetration in the middle whatsoever.

On the positive side, I don't think we can play any worse this season than we did today!

Poor performance all over the park today, not sure I've seen us pass this badly as a side for god knows how long and we seemed to just lack a bit of energy and urgency as well.

Putting it in perspective though we are missing 3 key players at the moment in Johnson, Suarez and Coutinho and have had to play a patched up back 4 yet again.

You can't defend the performance I guess but it's our first loss in the league this season and whilst I'm very disappointed 10 points from 5 games I'm sure I'd have taken before the stat of the season.

Need a bounce back now against the Mancs in the LC
