Playing 3 at the back against Palace could be playing into their hands. They could just pack the midfield, have a lone striker, batten down the hatches and play for a point. Not usually Holloway's style but you got to feel that's what they'll do. So I'd sacrifice one defender and play 4-4-2.

    .................Mignolet..................
    Touré......Skrtel...Sakho...Enr/Ciss
    Sterling...Gerrard..Hendo.....Moses
    ............Suarez..Sturridge...........

Sterling and Moses Coming into the middle a lot so it would be almost like a 4-2-2-2.

    .............Gerrard..Hendo.............

    ............Suarez..Sturridge...........

I was impressed by Touré at RB against Southampton so I think he could do an O.K job there while Johnson is out and Henderson is needed centrally in Lucas' absence.

Bib theory suggests Mignolet, Kolo, Skrtel, Sakho, Sterling, SG, Hendo, Moses, Sturridge, Suarez all to start. Didn't spot Enrique in pics.

You're of the opinion that Sterling *can* tackle, tracks back and has man strength?

The thing missing perhaps is man strength, but to say he is lacking in tactical discipline is just bonkers. He has been praised for that before, by our manager, and anyone with one eye open can see that he knows how to position himself defensively. Slightly different role at wingback, but at home to ****ing Palace hopefully they have to worry more about his attacking skills than we have to worry about his defensive ones.

And for those slating him, not up to standards etc, you can **** off , he is just a kid, learning his trade, and by God we need to blend them in, they are a big part of our future. If we had the funds to buy a whole team ready to deliver we would, but wake up, we don't, so he is an important part of our future and what Brendan is trying to build here. Support.

                Could be either

                Toure---Skrtel---Sakho---Enrique
                --------Hendo--Gerrard
                Sterling----------------Moses
                ---------DS----Suarez

                Or

                --------Toure---Skrtel---Sakho
                Sterling------------------------Enrique
                -----------Hendo---Gerrard
                ---------------Moses

                  Is agger injured?

Really dont want to see us playing wingbacks on Saturday. In theory we should have more width going forward but Enrique and Henderson seem to end up deep in full back positions and we then have a 5 man defence. Plus Moses is way better wide left than through the middle. I would go with the 433 with Hendo Lucas and Gerrard in midfield with suarez sturridge and moses up top

And his crossing isn't even very good either. Even if his performances in the last 6 months or so hadn't been weak it would still be a dodgy idea, but currently it is much worse than that. We'd be better promoting McLaughlin if we didn't have any other options.

Sterling has played as a wing back in two games this season and he's done surprisingly well both times. Against Palace at home, with magic Kolo covering him, it shouldn't be an issue.
