Carra and his kid looking in the opposite direction to the rest. Probably analysing the defence

Carra and son? Thought he'd get a bit of privilege...

Brilliant. He blends in so well

I was out of town till this afternoon and missed the match, but caught some highlights. Sturridge's goal was like watching Suarez score. Insanity

Glad to hear Henderson did well. He's a quality player! Everyone needs to realise that!

Anyway, very pleased with the result, top of the leeeeeague!!!!

So, SB, seems like Rodgers is on our wavelength after all and played Sterling at wing back. It worked like a treat and any thoughts Palace had of 'doing a Southampton' with his 4-3-3, i.e. push our defence high up the pitch, were dashed by Sterling's pace and position.

But as we all half (or fully) expected Sterling was poor defensively and in possession.

They doubled up on him (Moxey and Chamakh) but that left spaces for Sterling and Suarez to fill their boots - which I predicted in the pre-match thread. I wouldn't try Sterling at wingback against any other team though, they'd rip us apart.

Obviously really happy with the win but the 2nd half issues still exist. It was horrible to watch. Palace were never going to be as poor as they were in the first half but we sat back against a very poor side and let them play. Really frustrating.

It's nice to sit here being worried about a performance whilst we have won 3-1 and sit at the top of the league though.

Sterling really needs to up his game though. He was horrific today imo.

Henderson was outstanding. MoM by a mile for me.

Top of the league! Incredible start by Brendan and his team!

Just shows that unlike Arsenal we're not peaking yet. We're top of the table with key players out that directly affect our playing style (Coutinho and Johnson). Our second half performances are coming about for a few good reasons, and should easily be resolved within a month.

If we're still top then, God help the other teams.

We could easily be peaking now. Nobody knows until the end of the season.
                      Oh I don't know.

Yeah he did ok didn't he. Not his natural position but that game was made to measure for him to be given a start. Kolo covered for him when need be as we expected too. Job done.

Why? or if you'd rather why not?

Lack of talent? Lack of direction? Or do we just want to be negative so we can't be disappointed should we not win the league by 20 points?

Probably because that would be an increase of 25 points on last season.
