Until we beat some decent teams I'm not getting excited about this season at all because the fact of the matter is that we've had an easy fixture list so far and out of that Southampton was our toughest game and we lost.
Call that negative if you want.

I know Utd are not great but they are still a side which I would count as a tough game.

Can't agree with that tbh, Utd are a shadow of what they were IMO.

Not sure if it's negative, but it's a bit sad that what we've done so far allied to some of our sublime play and goals hasn't excited you just a little.

Agree utd are still a tough game, simply because they are UTD (ie: spawny *******s), and their side contains Rooney and RVP.

Don't get me wrong I'm pleased that we are genuinely progressing and have a manager who sets us up to play good football and generally makes sensible signings but as I said we've yet to face any of the other teams that we'll likely be competing with for the top 4 - Arsenal, Chelsea, City, Spurs - that's the top tier of opposition and just below that there's Utd, Everton, Southampton and Swansea, we beat Utd fair enough but we also lost at home to Southampton.
I'm going to reserve judgement on what could be achieved this season until the end of November at the earliest, I don't think that that's unreasonable.

The reason we struggled so much in the past was failing to take maximum points against LOWER teams..

Stoke, Villa, Sunderland and even West Brom

These are the type of games we'd have come away with only a point in seasons gone by..

No of course it's not unreasonable. I'm very much in the same boat so far as the season as a whole is concerned, there are so many unknowns still to come, it's impossible to say how it'll pan out.

I'm just taking one game at a time, and enjoying the sometimes sublime football we've been playing.

Let's regroup after the Arsenal match. We are due our second child this weekend so let's hope for another cause for celebration against the Gooners!
