I'm starting to come to the conclusion that when we get it wrong, we get it really wrong. I think we're a lot closer to Arse than that performance showed. By stifling our best players of possession they dominated the game. They also appeared to be more highly motivated than we were. Hopefully we'll learn and move on from that before the next game. At least we've got high expectations for a reason now.Akloppalypse Now !

It was a poor performance from us,even managerless Crystal Palace made a better fist of getting something from them than we did. A reckless challenge to give a way a pen and a goal on the break at the death as they pushed for the equaliser.I'd say Southampton will leave the Emirates with some reward in a couple of weeks too.
I really need the Fulham game to hurry up because the disappointment after that game is still eating me!

That's good news. Hope they can stay injury free for the rest of the season.Originally posted by Bender View PostBoth should be available for the next game v Fulham....Enrique has taken a lot of stick on this site, goes to show he is a player we need in our teamMe, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

He wants to go only to a team that is in CL.Originally posted by Robbie-9-Fowler View PostCoentrao might be available, not sure if he'd want to come here or not though.

To win a game against a top side you need most of your players to be on the top of their game, at least a 7 out of 10, and too many of ours had an off day. Tactics were partly to blame first half, but we weren't much better when we changed it, so I don't think you can particularly blame the manager for this one. We just weren't good enough on the day.
It's not the first time we've had a **** away performance in London though - over the last few years they have been commonplace. It was disappointing given the momentum we had going into the match, but if we can bounce back with a good win at home against Fulham we can get the bandwagon rolling again.
Edit - in fact, that's made me go back and check our away performances in London over the last 5 years. Shows how mediocre at best we've been...
12-13 W3, D2, L1 - wins against West Ham, QPR and Fulham
11-12 W2, D0, L3 - wins against Chelsea and Arsenal
10-11 W2, D1, L2 - wins against Fulham and Chelsea
09-10 W1, D0, L4 - win against West Ham
08-09 W3, D1, L1 - wins against Chelsea, Fulham and West Ham
Some of those in the loss column have been shockingly bad defeats. A couple of hammerings at Spurs, throwing away a 2-0 lead at QPR, outclassed a couple of times at the Emirates, etc.Last edited by calvoboy; 05-11-13, 10:21 AM.

someone mentioned this guy, and he seems ok.
aged 23, 5' 11"
At the end of the season, Schneiderlin was credited for the most tackles, interceptions and highest work rate in the premier league, establishing himself as one the best beefy holding midfielders in the Premiership.[11] He picked up both the player's player and fan's player of the year awards at Southampton's end of season awards.[12]
removing all the weak links makes us stronger
too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.
