Wonder if there's a case for spending our summer budget in January? Chances like this don't come along too often. We are in with a shout of the title - push on and spend well in January and who knows where it could take us.

the thing is as well....it's not like i'm wanting us to do something ridiculous....go and spend £150m on two players or anything like that.

i know it's all about finding the right player....it doesnt bother me if we find an Arbeloa type signing for £2m who comes in and is quality....or if we pay £18m and sign a top class full back....it's having the funds/bottle to actually go out and get these players.

And we don't need too much. Defo a centre mid. We play a 3 man midfield and i'd argue we only have 4 centre mids in the squad. 4.5 if we include Alberto who might be ok to cover the odd game, but i wouldn't be confident if we knew he had start the next 5, cause we had two of the other 4 out injured/suspended.

A full back shouldn't be needed.....Johnson/Kelly/Enrique/Cissokho/Flanagan on the books....we shouldn't have an issue. But Enrique being injured, Cissokho being **** and both Johnson/Kelly have had fitness concerns in the past, all of a sudden it's a bit of concern. So we defo need to look at it.

Finally - we defo need an extra forward player. Suarez is a star, sturridge a good striker but has injury issues, Coutinho and Sterling two very promising youngsters but aspas/moses not up to it- again, like centre mid, we play 3 attacking players, and we only have 4 'good attackers'.

Our owners certainly aren't scared to spend in the Jan window, and they aren't scared of a bit of creative accounting to move cash between windows.

Also not to forget we still have some of last summers budget left, we went after a few targets we missed out on.

So I'd say chances are pretty good, it depends mainly on who's available.

I would usually tend to agree, but this is Chelsea we're talking about and they're partial to the occasional bizarre move in the transfer window.

We're not far off to be honest. With one or two excellent signings in January we could really make a push for the title.

Yep. And not just that. The way we're playing, steamrollering teams....players will want a piece of it, they'll want to play with Suarez. It's gonna be pretty interesting.

I think so too. I think the only club that he'd leave for is Barcelona personally. He looks so happy right now, I think it's the happiest I've ever seen him for us. He is a born winner and he's in a team that's winning regularly. He lives for that.

I wonder what Suarez is thinking now about his next move. I'd do what Dortmund have done with Lewandowski - keep in until the end of his contract then let him go on a free if he won't sign an extension.

Was thinking the same. This season is shaping into an opportunity to have a tilt at the title much sooner than FSG must have been expecting.

As long as it doesn't mean settling for lesser players than if we waited until summer though.
