You need to re phrase your question then because as it is it basically gives us a choice-they get relegated or we win the league.

Meaning only one of those can happen. We'd all love to see them in the conference but we wouldn't swap it for us winning leagues.

its almost like the stars are in some sort of end of days alignment with city and arsenal losing key players, chavs looking ****e, so many things counting against our title rivals. yes, TITLE RIVALS... we are that close

our squad is more or less back to full strength at the right time, we are on the crest of the wave, confidence is sky high, other teams will be ****ting it as they take to the field.
.. COME ON YOU RED MEN
        Exactly.

That’s why I’m wouldn’t swap. Things are falling into place perfectly at the right time for us, whereas Chelsea and City are giving their fans plenty to worry about at the minute.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

It take winning the league even if it meant they managed to get into the top 4.

Have to disagree about Istanbul...IF we win this title it will be a bigger moment for me personally. This is the ultimate, this is what I have been waiting for and praying for over 20 years. The CL was incredible, absolutely unbelievable, but to win a 38 game league season at home will prove we are the rightful Champions, the best in the land, and it will well and truly put that Liverbird back on her perch. That is just a spine tingling thought and would simply complete me as a Liverpool fan.

Personally id rather ManU relegated (it would finish those dirth cunts off once and for all), as im confident that with BR at the helm - we will win it shortly.
I'd rather LFC finish 3rd over 4th than have 4th and MUFC relegated. They are an irrelevance to me. I despise them, but it's all about the glory of my team. And despite what anyone says, a season is not the same without derby games.

And I have one regret, that we reached for the top just as MUFC declined. Beating them 3-0 at OT was great, but it didn't feel massive to me. They are just ****ing **** for ****s sake. I'd have loved this team to have played a Fergie side, we'd have still battered them. Seeing him sour faced in the stands just ain't the same. Still, at least I get to laugh at his "8 players from a title challenge" quote from his book. Win or lose, he got that wrong. Maybe he confused LFC with MUFC?

I think all this stuff about getting back to our perch is just ****e made up by Fergie. And winning the league wouldn't mean we'll be dominating English AND European football for a couple of decades.but the rest I agree with.

Istanbul was magic. It was a wild ride and one night of immense joy. But the CL was an after thought. My football related thoughts have been consumed by the league since I realised that'd we'd lost the plot under Souness. Since then I've dreamed of winning the title. The only one I could enjoy whilst being a supporter really was the 1990 title. I'd not massively cared about footy prior to then. I was in Primary school then for crying out loud!

To go through Secondary school and the whole of my adult life forever in the shadow of other teams is hard - it's like I was given a small taste of success at an early age then had it taken away. It may be better to have loved and lost then never loved at all, but to taste is to only want more. It's like a drug more powerful than any ever made. It's pure euphoria. And whilst I've tasted euphoria of a different variety, it's just never quite hit the spot. Not even being number one ranked team in Europe after two CL finals quenched my thirst.

A domestic title will. Going into the CL whilst actually being the Champions will. And that feeling will be better than Istanbul ever was. Because as well as Euphoric bliss, it will be something more, it will be relief. It will be knowing we have everything in place to rebuild the dynasty. It will bring the prize of success and a promise of more to follow. It will make me so happy, I actually don't know the words to describe.

So sorry Istanbul, but you'll not even be close.

What, you're telling me there isn't a real perch that the Liverbird will climb upon and rest if we win the title?

Tbh, I think I'm more against people seeing it as a rivalry with MUFC than anything else. We compete against everyone, not just MUFC IMO. The wanting to finish above your rival crap should be reserved for the likes of Everton and other sides who never win anything anymore. Everton near enough thought they'd get a trophy for coming above us the way they treated it - largely down to Moyes tbf who made a career out of finishing above a rubbish LFC side. Still can't believe that sort of achievement got him the Mancs top job.

I take back my original statement, it was a bit rash. The PL is our holy grail and I'd love nothing more to see stevie lift it in may. The last time Alan Hansen lifted the title, I was only 12 years old.

Let me revise my statement: I'd love us to to be champions, and next season manU are in a relegation dog fight.

I've been thinking about us winning the title since the arsenal game. The past 20 years of disappointment have imbedded the mindset of.

"Other teams win the league not Liverpool"

This in itself is a damming indictment of the people who have run the club since our last title IMO.

Just the thought of Liverpool winning the title is unbelievable. It's something we have all been waiting 20+ years for and the thought of actually doing it is very difficult to comprehend.
