I fear Gerrard will play 90 minutes and probably miss the derby. Infact not probably, bloody well certainly

With Sturridge carrying a niggle and Luis probably half fit I just can't see us winning this. ****ing ****ty internationals

Suarez playing on Wednesday and probably playing long minutes regardless of first leg result vs Jordan is the biggest concern for me.

He will not have much time to rest at all and that can really affect our chances on Saturday.

          Absolutely.

We need to get 3 points vs Everton any way we know how.

The game on Saturday has enormous significance for us as in last 8 games of first half of the season we play 4 games away against extremely difficult opposition (in addition to Everton we play Chelsea, Spurs and City) and things will only get tougher.

            Likely line-ups:

            .................Howard................
            Coleman..Jagielka..Distin..Baines
            ..........McCarthy....Barry.........
            .....Mirallas...Osman...Pienaar....
            .................Lukaku................

            ...............Mignolet................
            Johnson..Skrtel..Agger..Enrique
            ..........Gerrard....Lucas...........
            ...Henderson...........Coutinho...
            .........Suárez...Sturridge.........

We can be almost 100% that Everton are going to line up like that, with us it's less certain because of Gerrard, Enrique and Sturridge being doubts. We may also go with Sakho for this one and put him on Lukaku, Skrtel and Agger have sruggled in the past against centre forwards like that. We may even go back to 3 at the back.

They were dreadful against Palace. Everything tried to come down the left hand side through Baines, Barry and Pienaar and Lukaku had no service at all.
They will be bang up for the derby though.

I thought the same and that we may sacrifice Sturridge to bulk out the midfield. Guaranteed nil-nil if we do playing 3 at the back against 1 forward

I'd take a nil all at their place right now.

I'd be surprised to see 3 at the back.

                    Enrique should be ready.

I have a feeling Barkley may start again. He's a local lad so will be well up for it, plus they have drew 2 blanks in a row.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

If Uruguay feel that they might need to use Suarez to get the result then why don't they start the game without him - they can always bring him on as a sub if they go a few goals down (which they won't). I think we could manage without Sturridge if he's not fit to play, but we need Suarez to be in good shape if we're going to get a result at Goodison.

LFC owner, John W Henry, has offered Luis Suárez use of his private jet in order to keep the Uruguayan as fresh as possible. (Guardian)

Totally agree, the result on Saturday is going to hugely influence where we are in the new year. With the top of the league getting bunched its going to be tight margins that separate teams. we need to go for the win, no question.
