Great vote of confidence there for Aly

I suspect we'll again be in for a left-back come the summer.

Glad we're not moving Johnson over to left-back. Not in favour of that move

        Flanno.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

I think he's a decent example of what we were talking about yesterday. Flanagan was very good for our reserves and made a good early impression in our first team. He then had 1 or 2 horror shows and it was back to the reserves where IMO he was too good for them and has sort of stagnated since.

Who is at fault here then as IMO the reserve coaches did their job in bringing him through and getting him ready to challenge for the first team? It was after he was promoted and then sent back to the reserves that he started to regress. I definitely think he should have been sent on loan a few years ago when he had Kelly and Wisdom ahead of him.

Flano offers nothing going forward, added to that Johnson's forward rampages will be hampered a bit from the left and since any system we play relys heavily on attacking width from the full backs I worry about us in this game.

I said it a few weeks ago, I'd try Agger at left back and leave Johnson where he is. Sakho at left back is far more likely though if we go that way but he never seems comfortable there and his attacking threat is minimal too.

Rodgers has pretty much dismissed that idea in today's Echo.

I think it comes back to having no plan how to deal with youngsters the right way at the club. There's a whole combination of things. Probably was a bad idea to demote him back to the reserves after a couple bad games. It's not good for a young kid's confidence.

There seems to be no plan of how to deal with young players, or what to do with the ones we sign. I remember not long ago, at different levels, different formations where being played. Then there is a lack of competitive reserve league/U21 league.

It can't be that hard to loan out some of our young players, but we seem to really struggle with it for some reason

i'd agree with the possibility of Agger at left back

                      johnson - toure - skrtel - agger

                      looks better than

                      flanagan - skrtel - agger - johnson

how the **** have we gone from seemingly having a million defenders on the books to all of a sudden from nowhere Flanagan is getting his second start of the season away to Everton!! the other being the other hard game we've had away to arsenal!

couldn't he have had his two starts against say ****ing Hull and Fulham at home!

Arsenal and Everton away! ****ing hell

That's why I'm not sure what difference it will make bringing in new youth coaches (in whatever role). I think we've been doing ok in the current set up and teh problem seems to start once they get to the stage when they're nearly ready for first team football.

                            i've been calm all week

played footy last night and a couple blue nose cunts where winding me up

                            feel sick now!

would take 0-0 and no injuries or controversy now and just move on

Worried about what Lukaku might do to Skrtel. As good as he's been this season I'd be tempted to drop him in favour of either Toure or Sakho. My preference being the latter but god knows if an Agger - Sakho pairing could realistically work.

Yep I'd take a draw. Sturridge with a knock, Gerrard not fully fit, Suarez ****ed, Flanagan etc. It'll take some immense performances to get a result with the problems we have.
