Sakho must surely play to combat Lukaku. Surely.

I think Flanagan is decent enough going forward, but that's just my opinion.Originally posted by G View PostFlano offers nothing going forward, added to that Johnson's forward rampages will be hampered a bit from the left and since any system we play relys heavily on attacking width from the full backs I worry about us in this game.
I said it a few weeks ago, I'd try Agger at left back and leave Johnson where he is. Sakho at left back is far more likely though if we go that way but he never seems comfortable there and his attacking threat is minimal too.
I don't think Johnson is hampered too much going forward by playing LB though. Certainly last year he created as many chances from that position and had as many chances himself cutting in unto his favoured right foot. In saying that though, he didn't get the returns he deserves from LB as all the chances were wasted. If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Yea i agree, would much rather Agger at left back than Cissohko and that way we can fit Sahko into the lineu-up too, hopefully he will bring his international form to the derby.Originally posted by The_weatherman View PostI've changed my mind a little bit, I think we should play Johnson on the right and try Agger on the left leaving Sakho for Lukaku. Agger is no worse than Cissokho on the left but we need Johnson against Baines IMO. Agree that it could be a good idea to start Moses instead of Sturridge, if only to inject some power into the side.Y.N.W.A!!!!!!

If we do get something from this game, I think Coutinho will make the difference for us. He should be well rested and raring to go for this, although equally Barry has no doubt spent all week preparing for how to keep him quiet.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostYep I'd take a draw. Sturridge with a knock, Gerrard not fully fit, Suarez ****ed, Flanagan etc. It'll take some immense performances to get a result with the problems we have.If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

I'm actually warming to the idea of Flanagan playing, he'd have a million times more intensity and desire than Cissokho, and more dynamic. Cissokho would really struggle in this match, Flanagan would raise it and keep up with everyone else, especially since he's a local lad who understands what the derby is all about. He deserves a spot if he's training well anyway. I'd prefer Flanagan RB and Johnson LB though.Rafa on Everton - "When you play against the smaller teams at Anfield you know the game will be narrow"

i have tried to fly the flag for agger as a left wing back and he would be great in this position. he can double up on their winger to assist sakho to make us more solid defensively, and also carry the ball at pace down the left, get some crosses in, likes a shot [often accurate] and not having to cover as CB he would be up for every corner.
AGGER
this would also allow johnson to retain his place on the right. this would give us a better balance. it must surely be a better option to leave glen as RB than bringing in flannel.removing all the weak links makes us stronger
too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

Good day gentlemen. I bet £200 on Liverpool to win the league last week, as I believe with much certainty that against Fulham, Brendan Rodgers finally used the system perfect for our players. I think it will be the system that will see us win a shock league title. Unfortunately I got fired from my job yesterday but its OK because Liverpool are a force in the league again.
