How could it not be, especially if we beat Palace? We'll be 3 points ahead of them.

Okay, but that's really defeatist though, isn't it? Or is it some kind of Sarb reverse psychology tactic?

I think in about Feb/March I said I wouldn't be disappointed if we didn't win it - cos the season has been a roaring success whatever happens now - but I feel ****in gutted. Properly gutted.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

It would be a massive disappointment. Think I said it before, but it would take a few days for it to be taken out of my system. That defeat against Chelsea last week; I probably haven't really got this out of my system.

Why is it defeatist? It's just realistic. There is a pretty tangible difference between outright pessimism and being realistic, if you ask me.

If City drop points, I'll be the first to apologise for bringing people down with my "Negative Nancy" attitude but I think it's just being pragmatic to assume that City will not drop points and that we will not be scoring 11+ goals in two games.

Everton was the most likely opponent to take points off City and they didn't do it. Feel sorry for them as their fans were proper horrible. If you take a look at any Everton forum (it's a habit I have... annoying as it just makes me feel worse!) they're all saying "oh how bittersweet!" "I'm happy with the result... and I know that's the right way to feel" "We are a credit to football"

They're soooo small time it's ridiculous.

It's not pragmatic because the media will have you believe that they already have one hand on the trophy, but they still have to first play, then win those two games. What's realistic is that we also win our two games and finish the season on the same points total than City, making it an extremely close title race. It's not unrealistic to think they will slip up. They have before.

But it's certainly defeatist to think they have already won it. They definitely haven't won anything yet and we haven't lost it yet.

Assuming they won't drop points and stating it as fact are entirely different. One is absolutely pessimism.

None of us know what will happen over the course of the final 4 games,so we can all leave optimism and pessimism at the door, support the team and see what happens.

I think of how many teams are mathematically out of the league chase (Arsenal, Man Utd ) and tell myself we can still do it because we're still in it.

I reckon we should go for bust, ie score 6 or 7 goals in both games. Or die trying. Winning or losing gloriously.

Well who has stated it as fact? I don't think anyone is doing that. It's all an assumption.

And those of us assuming they won't drop points are not diminishing their level of support for the team in doing so.

Rodo did, Nigey quoted him and said it was defeatist and then you quoted Nigey saying it wasn't defeatist. It was.

Also a few have said the title race is over as if it's fact. It isn't.

We're level on points with two games to play and a lesser goal difference, that's the only fact. Let's rally behind the team and see what happens, there'll be plenty of time to disect what's happened after next Sunday. Let's leave it till then and show nothing but support.
