Think West Ham and their defensive tactics won't work at City. Aston Villa have got the ability in them to cause them problems on the counter. I can't see them not conceding though. The only way we've got control over this is to win both our matches by a cricket score and hoping City's games are tight wins. Are we winning?

City only managed to get +1 against an Everton side that wasn't event trying and Aguero is potentially injured. We've got to hope that Aston Villa and West Ham just look to shut up shop and conduct a damage limitation performance, because their form away from home is wank.Originally posted by Vermilion View PostHave people not read Shaggy's post on GD, even if City only win their last two games 1-0, we still need to score 11 goals!
But even if we win 5 or 6 nil on Monday, City still have the option to score a couple more in their final two knowing this, and then we'll need to win the last game about 8 or 9 - 0! even after winning Mondays 6-0!
Is it remotely realistic to be considering this as an option?
Surely City dropping points is far more probable ? and that's unlikely enough!
Claiming back the GD as it stands is the stuff of miracles imho, let alone if City bang in an extra couple for luck!!
Right now i'm worried about the Palace game, will our challenge wain and leave City with a worry free end to the season as CĀ£ampions.
Win on Monday, and i will have faint hope that West Ham can do us a favour, no idea why, just blind optimism, but a more realistic one i think.
It's each to their own, but I think people are in three categories at the moment. Some are hoping for a miraculous goal swing, some are hoping for a miraculous under-dog victory against City and others are accepting that we pushed and pushed well, but ultimately fell just short. Nobody is right or wrong, just go with whatever makes you feel warm and fuzzy inside.

Yep, we'd do well to turn that GD around over 10 games let alone 2!Originally posted by Shaggy View PostIf we win the league this season, it will be on points and not goal difference. That's as good as guaranteed. Talk of overhauling their GD is pure fantasy.
Only hope is Villa or West Ham somehow taking the lead and City ****ting themselves but both squads probably just want to be in Vegas or at the World Cup now so cant see it.

This is true, i just think hoping for a gd reverse is a forlorn hope, while the other is not, and is actually possible.Originally posted by Muddled View PostCity only managed to get +1 against an Everton side that wasn't event trying and Aguero is potentially injured. This is how it will go lads.
Scenario 1:
We'll be winning comfortably at home to Newcastle and City will be labouring,it'll be nil all in injury time and City will get a corner.Joe Hart will come up,there'll be a goalmouth scramble,West ham will clear it and someone will shoot from the half way line into the unguarded City net resulting in bedlam in the Liner hotel and elsewhere!
Scenario 2:
It's a draw in both games into the final seconds,City have heard our game is a draw from the fans are just knocking it about knowing they are secure, ref blows it up and they all start doing a United at Sunderland. But wait, late drama at Anfield,Liverpool have a penalty in this season of penalties,up steps Gerrard,he hits the post but scores the rebound resulting in bedlam in the Liner hotel and elsewhere!

Yes it is extremely unlikely that we would win the league on GD/GS but do you not think that getting City to think about GD being an issue could help make them slip up?Originally posted by Shaggy View PostIf we win the league this season, it will be on points and not goal difference. If we can beat Palace by a few it will bring the issue into City's mind, as they know we are capable of scoring goals at Anfield, fearing that something like a 6-0 win over Newcastle could hand us the title they may be worried enough to go after the extra goal(s) and leave themselves open on the break in one of their remaining games allowing Villa or West Ham to nick a point.
Like I say it's a small hope, but it has to be worth a try, first we concentrate on winning but if we can do that, we should try to push on and increase the margin. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

We must get 3 points tomorrow. After the season we've had it would be seriously disappointing to finish third. I want us to still be in with a chance of winning the league on the last day, anything can happen on that day. I'd love us to put four or more past Crystal Palace, whilst it might seem unfeasible to win the league on GD we must put as much pressure on City as possible.Last edited by TheElephantMan; 04-05-14, 03:59 PM.

either, obviously. but it would be the stuff of dreams for stevie to score the goal that finally clinches our return to our perch and stevies first premiership winners medalOriginally posted by G View PostThis is how it will go lads.

removing all the weak links makes us stronger
too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

Yes I think thats my preference although that one would not be good for the heart on the day. I just refuse to believe that the slip will be his defining moment in this seasons race,it can't be.Originally posted by baitman View Posteither, obviously. but it would be the stuff of dreams for stevie to score the goal that finally clinches our return to our perch and stevies first premiership winners medal

I'm sure the Blackburn fans thought the same in 95 coming into the last game. They must have assumed Man Utd would beat West Ham so anything other than beating us at Anfield would have been enough.
I'm sure we thought the same in 86 not expecting anything to happen.Last edited by john316; 04-05-14, 05:05 PM.
