Ref done his job, and executed the letter and intent of the rules. It was stupid by Markovic, and was rightly punished. Whether it's a fanny reason or not, it was the right call.

if markovic would have pushed out towards the lads chest and made contact it wouldnt have even been a foul, players paw away oncoming players all the time. but because he has caught him in the face, even though it barely touched him, then the ref could have given him a yellow.

to have thunk it was a straight red is madness.
if you followed that sort of standard then almost all games would end up being abandoned as their wouldnt be enough players left to continue.

It isn't. He had fresh legs an hour in when there was space to run into. In that time he ran but didn't actually do anything worthy of note. I know it stood out in a dire game, but in reality he did what he's done previously, ie not much other than run.

Let us off with a possible second yellow for Dejan, and a fairly strong yellow for Moreno.
Dead right on everything else. Would like to see him reffing more games for us.......although he'll probably have to slum it in the EL for while.

Putting to one side the current rules and the way they are adhered to by referees, is this the way you both personally want the game of football to be?

Do you both think that in an ideal world challenges like Markovic's should result in a team being reduced to 10 and a game of football potentially ruined?


Really interested to know how you feel about it.
