I think he's possibly starting to do what he did at Benfica - by all accounts started very slowly, was nervous and inhibited, and had an excellent 2nd half of the season. He's still the one I have the highest hopes for, long term.

I think physically he's just way off at the moment for the premier league. Hopefully he's one of those players that just takes his time to adapt to the league & maybe work on bulking him up a bit.
I do love the idea of a free running, positive player like that & even though he has looked **** in his brief cameos.. hopefully he comes good here. Whether that will be under Rodgers i'm not so sure.

unless he get's regular football he won't flourish also in a team like ours this season might also hinder his football what with constant changes in the starting 11,reckon he would have been ace last season had he been playing with Suarez and Sturridge, but here's hoping he has a better 2nd half of the season along with the rest of the teamOriginally posted by Shaggy View PostI think he's possibly starting to do what he did at Benfica - by all accounts started very slowly, was nervous and inhibited, and had an excellent 2nd half of the season. Aye he won't improve with 20 minute cameos every fortnight. We need to salvage whatever we can from this season - we spent £20m on him so why not just lash him in the starting XI more often than not and see if he can pick up. It's the only way he will. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

If we were a top team I think we would be introducing can and Markovic at a similar pace to what we are looking for there development (possibly more cameos in games we are winning but that's another issue). The problem is that our first team has looked crap so we are trying to look for solutions in players clearly bought with at least half an eye on the future.
It is obviously fair enough to criticize the management for not having a sufficiently good first team to help them develop but plenty of players are eased into teams to help development."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

well let's see if Lazar gets any game time on V Bournemouth and Arsenal,Arsenal would not relish the likes of Markovic and Sterling runnning at their defenceOriginally posted by Shaggy View PostAye he won't improve with 20 minute cameos every fortnight. The thing with Sterling running at your defence is you can always let him shoot.Originally posted by Bender View Postwell let's see if Lazar gets any game time on V Bournemouth and Arsenal,Arsenal would not relish the likes of Markovic and Sterling runnning at their defence"The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

Actually I heard the opposite mateOriginally posted by Shaggy View PostI think he's possibly starting to do what he did at Benfica - by all accounts started very slowly, was nervous and inhibited, and had an excellent 2nd half of the season. . He started of with a bang in Benfica - scored and assisted on his debut and a brilliant solo goal in his second game against Sporting. Having said that transitioning from Benfica to Premier League is a bigger jump than Partizan to Benfica.
When we were first linked to him, several of my mates who follow European football said that we were getting a youngster with the potential to be the best in Europe - thats how highly he was rated. The reaction on the Benfica message boards ( I think someone posted it here) validated that opinion.
Last two games he has shown in flashes what he can do - powerful runner and dribbler with an eye for an incisive pass. I am not sure if playing on the wing is the best position for him. But I hope he builds on what he has shown.

Looks a decent midfield on paper, I doubt we will see it under Rodgers though. Would drop Henderson too as he hasn't been good enough lately.

I don't think it was all that lazy - he bust a gut getting to it, looked up and tried to place it rather than his usual wallop. If he'd had been a split second quicker the angle would have been more generous and you'd be praising him.
I think that one was just unlucky.Hello mert.

It was still a shot of a striker low on confidence.Originally posted by Fivex View PostI don't think it was all that lazy - he bust a gut getting to it, looked up and tried to place it rather than his usual wallop.
