Not really. There will hopefully be little impact for us as Ibe is available, but if we'd went into second half of season thinking it was a one game ban and left Ibe at Derby because we didn't think he'd get much time here, then we'd be a bit screwed now that Sterling and Gerrard are injured.Originally posted by dom9 View PostI just think you're making something out of nothing.
The timing is irrelevant as there is no impact.
Complain about the length of the ban by all means. But this isn't worth getting into a tizz about imo.
I agree that the punishment should have been issued at the time and see no benefit at all for anyone to deyal until this stage. If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

The ban is severe but it will be a good lesson learnt for a young player because you just cannot raise your hands to anyone no matter how minor it may seem without incurring trouble. I'm sure that will run through his mind when he's watching these games from the stands.
Of course there will always be consistency issues in what some referees do but you cannot complain if you break the rules and unfortunately he did.
What other players may appear to get away with has no relavance in this case I'm afraid.

So why are you concerning yourself with it?Originally posted by dom9 View PostBut we didn't so it's irrelevant.
I agree with Ronan that it's a stupid ruling and makes little sense, so is relevant, even if it doesn't have a massive impact on us on this occasion. If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

****wits, they forgot about Markovic...a couple of months later, Liverpool Vs Beskitas...
****wit 1 at UEFA checking the fixtures in the Europa League looking at our fixture goes "oh yeah, didn't Markovic get sent off against Basel?"
****wit 2 : "& got himself sent off in last year's final too!"
****wit 1 : "maybe make an example of him?"
****wit 2 : " Yeah, Lets!"
As someone said earlier, why wasn't this sorted at the appropriate time?!!!!Nope, don't need anger management, you just need to stop pissing me off!

To be honest, I'm highlighting how angry people seem to get about stuff which is irrelevant.Originally posted by RedReet View PostSo why are you concerning yourself with it?

Yes, the timing is a bit strange at first thought. But then you can think about it logically. The offence happened during the last game of the last round of matches. Disciplinary committees meet at pre-set times during the season. It is now the next round of games, so that is when the committee is meeting scheduled to consider this and other decisions. The outcome of the meeting will have no impact on this weeks games, so there's no problem.
But, in this is age of instant information, we want to know everything yesterday. Even if it hasn't happened yet. And if it hasn't happened yet, people get frustrated and angry and demand to know why.
It's completely illogical behaviour, yet it amuses quite a bit.
Now, I'm gonna find some more ants to piss on.Oh I don't know.

.
Anyway, off you canter on your high horse, looking for the next chance to belittle peoples' comments on games you don't even watch.

Haha, as much as I argued that the subject is relevant, it’s not particularly interesting and I had hoped not to post on it again.Originally posted by dom9 View PostTo be honest, I'm highlighting how angry people seem to get about stuff which is irrelevant.

However, I just can't accept that the logic behind this decision is because they have pre-set meetings, so it makes sense to wait 3 months rather than schedule an earlier meeting, or heaven forbid, have 2 meetings. If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?
