Not sure how we played as I missed the game, will deffo watch on MOTD tonight.

Can anyone give me a wee summary, I've so far got that Skrtel was ****.
Nobody was **** and no-one was great either.

I was quite impressed with Koeman. He'd obviously had a look at us in pre season and came with a system to cut off the supply to and from Phil.

Early impressions are that he's going to do well for Southampton.

We just gave the ball away too easily today and I felt the CB pairing was playing a litle too deep allowing them too much space.

As I said earlier. A win the doesnt **** up your position in the PL

          Skrtel wasn't ****

1st half - we dominated possession. Southampton pressed well but we were in control. Didn't really trouble Forster, apart from Sterling's goal (excellent through ball from Henderson and a good finish from Sterling).

2nd half - we lost control in midfield. Southampton scored a good goal and looked the more likely team to win. Mig pulled off a couple of world class saves and Sturridge (who else) pounced for the winner.
          Another MASSIVE game

              Much appreciated!

Sounds like a typical first game of the season to me!

Lack of Midfield control. Hate to say it but two of our midfielders were not up to task, and as a result we could get the ball to Coutinho who was stranded.

Positives: Manquillo looks good/ fast and keen. Lovren looks great and Mignolet did well I thought and was trying to be more vocal.

We need a striker and I would go all out for Arturo vidal.
Jacques Brel is alive and well and playing at Anfield

                    Vidal is no striker.
                    Are we winning?

For the City game I'd be tempted to move Lucas out for Markovic if he's ready. Drop Phil back into midfield with Henderson and Gerrard. Sterling and Markovic up top on either side of Sturridge and swap Johnson out for Moreno.

Funny seeing Sturridge doing a 'Shearer' celebration. Has he hung up his dancing shoes?
