No he won't. He'll go on a ten game run without scoring now.

I predicted him to grab two today and Aguero one. Scary how accurate I was. Jovetic scores against us but he won't get any lucky bounces next ten games. This isn't bitterness, I just don't rate him that much.

Then we let Aguero go for the third.

Yeah we lacked a bit in the final third, but the 3-1 scoreline makes it look much worse than we actually were. Obviously its gutting to lose, but I'm not too disheartened, and hopefully it will kick us on now to go and win again at the weekend.

Balotelli will help take the burden off Sturridge, as good as he is he doesn't play the lone striker role effectively. He needs someone to work off. I'm confident that we'll go to Spurs and get a result at the weekend.
Agreed, saw more good than bad there. I'm never too down about losing the big away games anyway, they should be beating us on their own pitch just like we should be beating them when they come to Anfield. It's the way it is, though a great feeling if you get a result.

Agree on Sturridge too, he's come alive each time Lambert has come on this season and we've got a goal out of it both times.

Neville and Carra picking apart our defence. Bit of a horror show between Moreno & Lovren but early doors. Hopefully with time we can sort that out. Unfair to compare us to City's established backline. Unfortunately arguablely the toughest game in the league came a bit too early for us.

All decent but not good enough. When there is such a poor collective performance it makes it very difficult for one player to stand out. Too many individual decisions were poor, but as rat face has said, nothing that can't be fixed on the training pitch.

I can barely remember us beating a contender early ever. Any August fixture against the big boys usually ends badly for us.

What did he do wrong bar get injured? All 3 goals were down the opposite side.

They had virtually the same side out as last season... established champions. Unfortunately we are trying to bed in players & find the right players in our system.. City away so early is just unlucky.

Every attack that involved him broke down. He dawdles on the ball & seldom gives a good quick incisive pass. Not at all impressed. 👊

Rodgers will stick with Skrtel and Lovren. I can't see him changing anytime soon unless something catastrophic happens. He'll make it work.

We lost the game because we had half of a new defence so I can't see Sakho being drafted in at this point.
                          Are we winning?

                            Johnson had a solid game.

This reminded me a little of our lost away to Arsenal. Barring our defensive lapses we played much better here.

No it didn't and he was unlucky to not have an assists for the offside goal (he did his part). Defensively he wasn't troubled, so again it feels like a bit of a witch hunt. He wasn't outstanding, but he did very little wrong.
