Plus Milner would have likely cost 3 times that amount. There's no way City woud have let him go to a rival for 8 million, especially with the market as inflated as it was.
If Milner was indeed available for 8 million there is no way he would still be a City player.Cult Member. Nazi puncher.

I think Lallana will fit in well and will soon be a regular starter. Markovic looks nervous and a little lightweight to me as I've said, but its way too early to worry, Lovren I'm not so sure about at all for the price, Lambert isn't great but for the fee we got him for you can't buy a 3 legged donkey for these days.Originally posted by frank the tank View PostMoreno looks potentially world class.
If we had a decent defensive midfielder to cover him when he bombs on then that would make a huge difference.
Of all our signings, i would agree that Moreno looks like the best one.
For me though, Lovren, Lallana, Markovic and Lambert - that is essentially the Suarez money blown. Will be interesting to see how much Sam Allardici gives us for Lallana to replace Downing in 2 years time.....
Its in central defence and between the sticks that I get frustrated about, over £50m for Sakho, Lovren and Mignolet and I don't think they've improved us at all. Its added depth for sure, but for that outlay our starting 11 should be far stronger.SakhoPotatoes

Aye, but he fulfills a very important-and often very influential role within their squad. I'm not saying he's Gerrard 08-09 class, I just think he's very underrated by some here & would be more than happy to have him at ours.Originally posted by Kenneth View PostHe can hold his own amongst better players but he's a squaddie really.3rd place. He's a functional player who works hard and help gets the best out of better players. Be no good having him as a star signing for your team, bit he does supplement others very well.Originally posted by Kenneth View PostHe can hold his own amongst better players but he's a squaddie really.Forwards.......

Out of contract at the end of the season isn't he ?
Either way, he's an average player who has admittedly built up a decent career in spite of this. Works hard allowing others to express themselves, but in truth, that's part of the problem........he looks good in a team filled with great players, as when required to step up, such as in his numerous England caps, he's exposed as another average English midfielder. Big on effort, small on quality.
Not enough to progress a side looking for more."I will make the boys feel your support"
